hey,

i was wondering whether its worth it have a opt-in for my review site.
i personally think its not worth it because the product the website is about costs about $200+ and once people to decide to buy it they wont buy one again.

thanks in advance,

Nathan

    Hi Ooze,

I think it could be worth but you should decide that.

Do you plan to market any similar products?

Does everyone who visits your site purchase immediately?

These are just two good reasons for starting an opt-in. But you will need to keep in touch with snippets of useful information, because a dead list will be only a smidgen better than no list at all.

:p This is like a riddle: "What product costs about $200 and once people buy it, they will never buy another again?"

Hmmm...so you're SURE they will never buy anything like it again, huh? How about accessories for this mystery one-time product purchase, or related products that serve similar functions? How about a guide on how to use said product? Would your market potentially be interested in these?

    Smart money says it's likely.

I've been making a great living primarily through Adsense and only recently started to explore Amazon a bit, and there are 2 things I've found after sending loads of highly-targeted traffic to hot-selling, top-rated products:

    1) Amazon doesn't always convert as well on-site as those selling WSOs on the "wonders of being an Amazon affiliate" would have you believe.

    2) People are shockingly responsive when you offer them something of value via an opt-in form on your Amazon sites (For example, a current "best-selling" list of products in the niche they were searching, or a "how-to-use-product-x-the-best-way" guide for the product they were looking for.

While Amazon is far from the goldmine it once was, their is still great potential in it, especially when you throw up a simple opt-in to a simple autoresponder.

There are a few variables that can come into play but I would highly consider it in most situations. Why try to tell to someone once when you have the chance to sell to them for a lifetime?
