Question About Flippa..

Hi all, I intend to launch my first site for sale on Flippa, but have a quick question. Do the paid features that Flippa offers (such as featured listing, twitter promotion, etc) actually bring results and leads to increased number of bids? Thanks for your advise..

    Yes, definitely.

They also just rolled out a new feature - Premium Listing
    http://flippa.com/blog/new-feature-premium-listings/

I would check that out if you have a high valued site.

Yes, the paid features will help you to get more bids many times, but consider a few things before you use them.

Is this site going to sell for a large price? If so, than investing in some type of premium listing is probably a good idea. However, if instead you don't expect this site to sell for a large price (or you have no idea how much it will go for), it's probably best to save your money.

If you are just starting out with flipping, it would be a good choice to sell a few sites using the basic listing so you get a feel for what the market is like, how much you can expect, etc. Then, when you try the premium listings, you will have a benchmark to compare them with to see if they made a large enough difference to justify their cost.

Good luck with your site auction!

For $250, you could buy ALOT of gigs on Fiverr to promote your listing! I would recommend purchasing the featured listing option either in the 2nd last day or last day of your auction to get some bids flowing.

Are those gigs promoting my listing going to generate targetted traffic?

This forum is a good place to start . You can also check out DigitalPoint and SitePoint (which owns Flippa).

Depends on what gigs you purchase. I purchased a gig yesterday for my current flippa auction by searching 'Twitter internet marketing'. The results showed me only those gigs offering twitter tweets to followers who are interested in internet marketing. You could do a similar search with Facebook, YouTube and LinkedIn. I would also recommend some social bookmarking gigs that point to your flippa listing.

        Take care,

Yeah, I would suggest targeting traffic outside of flippa to your flippa auction as well. Post in forums with your site auction as your sig and that will bring in some eyes to your listing.

So many people under estimate the power of fiverr gigs. lol. I mean seriously once you get a hold of the right person that can stay consistent with your promotion (twitter, fb etc..) You have made a money making friend for life.
