Accepting PayPal Payments

Hi,

Here's what I need: a Paypal button that the user clicks, then he goes through the paying proceedure and at the end he is either emailed a link to the product or redirected to a page where he can download it.

However, I can only create buttons where the user pays and then he is thanked for paying, all PayPal created. How can I do this?

When you create your button you should find a redirect option. After paying your customer has to click a "Return To Merchant" button. Some customers don't, of course, and you have people emailing and asking whey they didn't get their download - but some people never read instructions.

Even easier, once it's set up, is e-junkie.com. It'll cost you $5 a month but you get lot's of options for what people get after they pay, all automated. They even host your download for you so you cut down pirate downloads.

    There's a built in affiliate program too. For $5 a month it's a steal.

Maybe I have to have a business account? Because I can't find those options...

Yes, you do need a business account. I set up a payment button with PP for my site and there is an option to send buyers to another page after purchase. That can be your download page. You enter it in the "successful payment" field during the paypal button creation process.

You could do the email option using Paypal's IPN (immediate payment notification) option.
