Needs advise for newbie on affiliate marketing and product marketing.

Greetings folks,

I have just been introduced to this forum as I was keen to learn more about IM. Now, I have been doing some research and studying on my own for about half a year on internet business and marketing out of interest and kinda understands how the concept works. Or maybe not..

of what I understand from affiliate marketing is that you find a product, you promote the product on your website (or the blogsite you own), and you link it with the product site. Is this the part where we get our own domain?..

2.) Marketing:
Once we link the product site with our blog or domain, we advertise it. another part which confuses a newbie like me....How can I advertise the products effectively??...any suggestion for me to kick start?? what ways can I implement to start seeing positive results?.

Any type of suggestion will be much appreciated as I'm really keen to learn.

Kind Regards,

Syaz

There are so many different ways to advertise your information, like SEO, building a list, articles, etc. I'd suggest heading over to the Make Money Online section of this forum and check out some of the different methods. See if anything catches your eye. Or if you're really ready to jump in, visit the Warrior Special Offers section and purchase a course.

Find something that seems like it can work with your skill set and your desires, then give it a try. There's no one way to promote your stuff.

Yes, get your own domain to market the physical product you want to promote. To market the products effectively, write reviews of the products. Write good unique content that provides value to the visitor.

I would recommend getting your own domain name, hosting account like HostGator, an autoresponder to catch email addresses, and setup your own squeeze page with a free report that has somehing in common with the product you are going to promote.

After that, you have so many ways to advertise that it can become mind blowing, I recommend you start with buying some solo ads, this way, you build your list, and provided you put the product you are promoting as part of your sales funnel, you will also get sales for that product, and commissions.

another Q...like being mentioned above...would it be advisable to purchase a course for a newbie like to fully understand everything from scratch?.

Yes make sure to get your own domain and hosting account to start out with. From there the sky is the limit for getting your link out there. The main thing is to do something every day that is working toward putting your links out. The more you do at getting your links out, the better the odds of someone clicking on one and then hopefully signing up.
If you need help with anything, you can Skype me at Todd_Rutledge and I'd be glad to help you out.

Yea go with hostgator and make sure you do a keyword research before you pick a product.. you need to make sure that enough people are looking for the product " if you will be depending on search engines"

Also check the competition against you and how hard it is to break into that market

    These posts are great

First you need to find your niche
Then buy your domain name, I recommend buying from GoDaddy, but do not host there
Get a hosting account, I use Hostgator Baby Plan
Get an autoresponder, I use AWeber
Get A simple payment plan like PayPal to begin with
Build your sales page, opt-in page (Squeeze page) with a free report and thank you page
Get Filezilla - free program used to upload your pages to your webhoster
Try edit plus to make changes on your pages
Then write a good solo ad and pay someone to send out the ad to build your list

But most of all great content and value will build trust to you buyers

If you are just starting out, you had better start with Physical products as even if it takes time to implement your marketing plan, the product will remain fresh.

However, if you have an aggressive marketing plan, you might target digital products as well. The aggressive marketing plan would include advertising using PPC. Buying banner spaces on high traffic websites. Starting a website and establish it strongly with strong link building.

I don't think you need to buy anything quite yet. There is plenty of free information on how to get started.

I like to get my domains at godaddy but I get my hosting at hostgator because I've found them super helpful for newbies. They have great customer service.

Make sure to do some keyword research before you buy the domain though.

    Good luck.

If you want to be affiliate, try to give more value about what you offer, if the buyers like you. The sales will follow you.

Once you find the product you want to promote, you need to get YOUR affiliate link. This should be provided by the affiliate program that you apply to. That affiliate link is the link that you promote. Without an affiliate link, you will just be sending traffic to the product owner without getting credit.

As for promoting, there are many ways to promote.

Get a lot of backlinks to your site for your keywords to raiser higher in the serps.
Use PPC (like Adwords) to drive traffic
Use social bookmarking to backlink and get traffic
Do article marketing to drive traffic

    Just a few suggestions.
