What TLD would you use?

Hey everyone,

I'm in process of building my own Adsense/amazon/clickbank (ETC) sites as i've provided the keyword research for a while now and figure I should venture into actually building a few of these sites myself with the spare keywords I find.

Here is my dilema though! I don't know what Keyword/TLD to focus on.

Domain 1 = ***-***reviews.com
Domain 2 = ******reviews.net/org

the * stars are for same product, but in the first one it is just splitting up a word. (The actual product name is ***-*** I believe)

Now the interesting part, BOTH ***-*** and ****** each get the same search volume but slightly different adsense CPC (This doesn't bother me as it's a couple of cents)

Which domain would you go for? Obviously I'll try and achieve ranking for both - but which domain will make it easier? Is it worth using a hypen to get the .com seen as the keyword actually uses a hypen too?

I'd say no hyphens - since .net/orgs pretty much weigh the same as .com as long as they got the keywords in.

I was thinking that too, but because the hypen is actually in the keyword - perhaps an exception to the rule "No hypens"?

Think about if searchers actually type in the hyphen when searching on google?
if the hyphen is in the keyword, and most likely visitors search this term with the hyphen, then go for the .com!

Thats my dilema!

According to google keyword tool they do! But they also type in the keyword without the hypen.. both about the same.

Thats why i'm stuck in a hole

No hyphens, for sure. You are much better off with the non hyphen .net/org rather than hyphenated .com

Hmmm, two schools of thought here. Personally I would always opt for the no hyphen rule.

However, this is just my opinion.

Neither will make any difference, Andy.

Neither TLD extensions nor hyphenation affect SEO/rankings in any way.

I've done thousands of sites and I second this. There is only one case where I want a .com. Type in traffic. If you have something that people will type the exact phrase in to find, then .com is the way to go because that's the one they'll type. Everything else, doesn't matter.

Yes. I say no hyphens. Go with the .net. Hyphens are evil.

Alternatively, you can forward the hyphen to the .net if you still want it.

Hmm I don't think you can include a product name in your domain
And plan to make money off of that. Usually product names are brand names
In which they belong to their registered owners.
