Dating Niche Advice Needed: More visitors but not more sales... explanations?

Hi,

I am in the dating niche in a country in Europe.

My traffic (with SEO) goes up like 10% per month but the sales don't grow proportional to that number.

It is even so that I have 20% less new leads this month and last month in comparison to the 3 months before that while I have exactly the same amount of traffic on my optin page.

I didn't make a lot of changes to my optin or website. I always splittest the optin to get the best results (just like my salespages).

But it looks like I don't grow with splittesting, I just avoid declining.

What are good explanations?

- Is it that dating is more popular in the summer?
- Getting more traffic also results in getting less targeted traffic?
- I noticed that I get more one keyword traffic (which gives a lot of traffic) which results in less targeted/buy intentional traffic?
- Bad economy in Europe? People are afraid to spend money these days?
- Returning visitors/leads/custumors click again on a link to an optin or salespage while they are already opted in or bought the product? (which of course will not result in a conversion because they already converted)

I cannot honestly explain why this is happening to you, as for dating being more popular in the summer, I would have thought the Christmas period being a time for being with special people, would be a good time, in fact any time should be popular for dating, but in this niche, I have very little experience.

Wish I could help you more.

From my stats it is a trend that summer and december give more conversions but I don't understand that my overall growt in traffic is not proportional to my sales.

First, it could just be because of the upcoming holiday. Secondly, it could because of what you are promoting. I know that when I was in the dating niche and promoting dating sites that offer free subscriptions, I didn't make sales right off. Sometimes a person would be a member for a month or so before they upgraded to the paid subscription and I earned a commission.
