Scroogle and Google show different results- need help to test few keywords please

Usually I don't obsess over ranking that much, but I recently found out about a tool called Scroogle which I guess, gives you more accurate results for keyword ranking than Google (I guess since Google may take your browsing history into consideration and show sites in results that may be your own or that you may have been visiting a lot recently).

I always thought if I log out of Google, I get accurate results. Until I found out about this tool and red a few articles about the whole thing.

Anyway, so I went ahead and tried a few of my own keywords to see if Google is showing me exact results (thus exact position for which I rank for the keyword) or if it is playing favorite.

And surprisingly, I found Scroogle's results different than Google's.


But I am just not 100% sure. So, I want to test it on different computers. I know its a bit too much and I hope you will understand it. I would appreciate it if a few warriors on different computers could do me a favor and test these keywords for me to see what results they get on Google.


Here is what I see:

Make money online Google shows #4 - Scroogle shows #1
make money Google shows #21 - Scroogle shows #28

ways to make money online Google shows #2 - Scroogle shows double ranking- #1 & #2


By the way, what tool do you guys use to see an accurate Google results for keywords you are trying to rank for?... Have you used Scroogle and whats your experience been like?

    Hi satrap,
    I have searched different terms in google and scroogle but haven't found any difference except the ad free environment (which is scroogle objective).

    I have used scroogle in the past , but the interface isn't good and thats why i prefer ads supported google.

    Hi, satrap - I checked the keywords and saw the following:

    make money online:
    Google - an inner page of your site (53 ways to make money) is #2
    Scroogle - same inner page is #1

    make money:
    Google - same inner page is #21
    Scroogle - same inner page is #28

    ways to make money online:
    Google - same inner page is #2
    Scroolge - same inner page is #1

    I used Scroogle awhile ago and often found that it was never off by more than a spot or two from what I saw in Google and when it was off, they lined up within 24-48 hours. Just figured it had to do with timing update of the data center I hit vs. Scroogle or something like that.

    Now, I stick with Rank Checker plug-in for Firefox and Market Samurai to check my rankings. Nothing against Scroogle but I often want to check rankings on multiple keywords at a time and those two tools will do that more easily.

      So, its just off by a few numbers here and there. Thats what I thought, but just wasn't sure.

      And yeah, I had a rank checker software (forgot the name), and it would check multiple keywords on big 3 SEs, but it was slowing down my computer seriously.

      I'll have a look at the FF plugin. Maybe that will do the job without slowing me down.
