Potential review site questions

Hello,

I am building my review site and I have great keywords, the domain that I got is really premium, I wanted to use it for another review site but I kept it to use it for the big project and it was registered in 2002 but was parked until I found it and got it from an auction and kept the domain age.

I am kind of lost, I want to make a small review site then grow from there, I am talking about an Amazon review site, for now I am targeting 2 niches..I was wondering if this is the best practice or I should do separate domains?

lets assume I have the domain example.com and I want to target laptops and bedding.. the main page will have a menu and content and our mission statement with a brief explanation about us , a menu on the left that has the keywords : laptop reviews and bedding reviews which will link back to example.com/laptop-reviews and example.com/bedding-reviews and recent reviews box on the right side

The question is would Google get confused because I am targeting 2 different keywords that do not relate to each other, if I do the right SEO to example.com/bedding-reviews and example.com/laptop-reviews and build targeted links and articles to those "pages", would I achieve my goals or Google will see that there is no connection and treat the whole site as a mix? or should I build them as subdomains like laptop-reviews.example.com and bedding-reviews.example.com so Google see them as separate domains?

I would appreciate if someone can help me as I am working really hard and I am very excited about the subject, I have never been so motivated as this time and I feel it will work.

Thanks

Thank you, my domain has review in it, its a 2 keywords domain reviewabcde.com but the abcde keyword has nothing to do with laptops or bedding its a noun , I would love to give the keywords and domain but I have been working on keywords for the past 4 days and I spent like 7 hours a day only researching.

I don't want anybody to get offended by that statement and I don't mean to insult anybody but the keywords that I got are kind of easy to rank for and the competition is low, I already checked everything using all the tools that I have and it won't take me 6 months to get to the first page with proper SEO and my competitors are getting around 30k users a month according to Google, I understand they might be ranking to other keywords.. I only want 5k visitors, you know how many people that might compete on the keywords and take them

    Thank you

I would say that two domains would be better, as you can very easily rank for both keywords, if your research is correct.

Also, with two domains, depending on keywords, should be easy to develop in other niches later on.

Whatever direction you devide to take, I wish you luck.

Thank you Rob, Does Google treat domains same as pages when they rank them for a specific keyword? I mean is it easier to rank example.com or example.com/keyword ( where example.com is a generic domain without any keywords)

Your niche site should be focused on one theme or topic only. This is the best way to attract targeted buyers who may then go on to purchase the actual product at Amazon.

Domains and hosting is pretty cheap, so I suggest you stop worrying about saving a few bucks by doubling up on two topics per this one review domain. It will dilute both and neither will do well in the serps.

Get two domains and build one site for laptops and one for bedding. This way you can expand into sub-niches for both topics and keep adding on fresh content.

I would buy a different domain for the niche that is not related with the keyword in the domain.
You also lose credibity if you put bedding reviews together with the laptop ones.

Thanks, I am not trying to save money here.. my issue is the domain that I have is premium and has nothing to do with the laptops or bedding , it has to do with the review keyword, ex ReviewCenter.com or Reviewworld.com or Reviewproducts.com so the domain doesn't target any of the keywords but its premium.

I am thinking of this domain as an Authority domain since its premium and I want to make categories and sub categories in it but my question was would Google get confused since my categories on the main page do not relate to each other, example the site will have a menu with a laptop and bedding categories and inside those It will have sub categories related to each one of them , its like Amazon structure style but I am not copying Amazon categories or trying to compete with them lol..also my domain is almost 10 years old so that is another advantage, I am worried if I get a new domain then since its new it won't rank as good as this one. I tried to search in godaddy and namejet auctions for related aged domains but couldn't find any..

      Thanks
