Launching a Plugin/WSO

Hi all,

I have developed a plugin for my own personal use (travel related) and i am considering launch it for sale.

I've not done anything like this before so i was wondering if people could share with me there tips on going about this?

1) What factors do i need to consider when launching a product? E.g. what time/cost goes into support etc
2) What is the best way to launch a product such as this?
3) What makes a successful product over an unsuccessful one
4) What has been peoples experiences of doing this for the first time and what would you have done differently from experience?

Are there any guides out there to launching commercially available plugins/wso's

    You definitely want to consider potential support issues. Anything plugin related is bound to get some help questions.

    2. launching as a wso is great if it will be a plugin helpful to the IM/website creation world. Join warrior plus as well and others can sell it for you too.
    3. Successful: have good, pretty sales copy with reviews set up before you put it on sale. this means you will have to give away a few review copies.
    4. See 3. I launched my first WSO which is straight to the point, no flash, no hype in the sales pitch, and sales were pretty low even though buyers loved the wso once they bought it. It was mostly a test to see how a relatively unknown member would do on a first wso without selling hype, because i do not like hyping things. But really, the more attractive your offer sounds and looks in the sales copy, the more people will want to buy it. People also seem to like wsos that have video, audio and pdf information in them, rather than just one of the above.

    Without knowing the specifics of your product it's hard to say. If you're thinking of launching this as a WSO it's going to need to be of use to people markeing products online. While it's true that some people have managed to sell products outside the Internet Marketing arena, those sucesses are fairly rare. Good luck.

    First, I think You should consider making a kind of tutorial explaining exactly how to use Your plugin...

    Really to have success you need to work on your offer... Make it appealing and really Make Sure it's really something that can help in any way.]

    Just consider this few points...
    But you can learn a lot by looking at similar offers that went on sale on the WSO forum/
