Anybody using SMTP.com? How well does it send emails?

Hey all,

I'm thinking about utilizing an external service to send out my emails to ensure things are delivered without hitting junk/spam folders. When I google up services, SMTP.com comes out.

Does anybody use them? If so, how do they perform? Do they have a history of positive results versus crap results?

My main concern is that I want to send my business to a valuable company that does NOT involve themselves in shady/spam type of work. This would ensure delivery of my emails, plus for ethical reasons, I don't want to give business to companies which contribute towards internet scum.

If you've used them before, please let me know what your experiences have been.

Or if you know of an alternative, please let me know as well.

Thanks in advance!

As far as just sending emails goes, I have used it and it worked - but if you're going to be doing a lot of newletter marketing then I would suggest a service like Aweber or Imnica.

Hey Chase, thanks for the response!

The thing with Aweber is it seems to bulky and clunky to just do some basic things. Plus it is super expensive. I actually just cancelled my Aweber account literally 10 minutes ago.

I was thinking of using Sendblaster + SMTP.com. Sendblaster is under $200, and SMTP.com would probably cost me around $200-$300 a month, which all in all, would allow me to send out 200k-300k emails a month. This seems really cheap.

Maybe I am missing something, but it seems Sendblaster+SMTP services is the way to go?

SMTP is simple mail transfer protocol.
It is what every email client uses, kinda like the industry standard.

You can actually set up an email or newsletter right in your cpanel, but here is something to consider. Hosting your own service can be good I know quite a few who do that. Of course custom scripts also is what they use so that is expensive unless you know how to code.

However if your only reasoning is because of the cost of a 3rd party provider, that is the cost of doing business imo so cutting corners on anything is not the best, you host your own AR and your deliverabiity may not be anywhere near what you hope. I hosted my own up until I found out people weren't getting my emails.

I will disagree with you - setting own SMTP in CP is a bad idea because #1 IP address is VERY important I mean it's reputation. #2 SMTP server must support authentication of the sender I mean SPF and DKIM. #3 TechSupport - you need to have someone who can help you anytime you need help, with such issues as email best practices and resolution of any accuring issues such as blocks spam complaints, etc. So I can say that [QUOTE=Ti;5218455] is right asking on feedback and that this is very important to have good SMTP service. It's just small part of their work, that I described. So Ti I can sure you, SMTP.com will help you and your business.

Using Aweber can avoid all those problems. You can manage every subscriptions on Aweber,

I use my own set up to send mass emails directly to inbox. I've dedicated server and a software "atomic email studio". It'll auto detect the server smtp settings and send emails through your server. You can also setup custom smtp with direct admin on your server and then use these settings in AES.
