Too many videos on Youtube (and elsewhere) suffer from the "Ugly Betty" blues. One of the many reasons why no one wants to watch your video, is because it's not entertaining enough.

The first law of a Youtube video is that it MUST be entertaining in some way. There's nothing worse than a talking head delivering boring information that is not targeted to me.

By entertaining I don't mean song and dance, I mean the video must in some way capture my attention. Videos are all about firing up the imagination.

Here's a cool new way to "pretty up" your old videos.

    That was one of the first things I learned when I researched how to make videos online - create a great intro that is catchy!

    Mine was so catchy my kids started singing it at odd times in the household.


    I kept mine at 10 seconds, as I figured that longer than that....it would bore the audience.

      You know you got a winner when the kids start singing it in the house, just like a memorable tv commercial

      The person you're watching may be credible, but to engage your attention that monolgue has to be delivered in an attractive manner. Why do you think tv news are successful even though there's a wooden anchor? The movie pictures of the news stories are what the viewer actually want.

      Examine the elements of a successful video squeeze and you'll see what I mean.

      Frank Kern is famous for re-inventing internet sales videos with creativity. Analyze his classic Mass Control videos to see how he does it.

      Frank's material is peppered with NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming, a mind control technique used by accomplished public speakers and sales trainers.)

      For ethical reasons I personally don't believe in NLP, but Frank is a master of video marketing. His success is statement enough for us to give it our attention.
