Why My website not getting traffic?

If the website you are talking about is in your sig, then your website ranks number 10 for the keyword "make money online from home".

The search results you are viewing is not the same search results everyone else is viewing. If you use Google.com and type in the keyword "make money online from home" and you click on your website a lot, Google will see this and will put the website you are clicking on at the top of the search results just for you.

In order to find out where your website really is you need an unbiased source to tell you where your website ranks in the search engines.

Use Scroogle.org

Still, ranking number 10 for an MMO keyword is good. Keep working at it and you will get to number 1.

Hey situ08,

I see you are on position 7 on the fist page of google for your search query.
If you click here, you can see that the click through rate of different position on the first page decline rapidly starting from position 3.

I have not done the keyword research for your search phrase, but on position 7 that's 1.88% chance of your total exact phrase match monthly searches you can expect to get from organic search traffic. That's 188 visitors per month from google per 1000 exact match monthly searches.

Is that what you are approximately getting if you check your analytics?

Also, I would focus on promoting your site through other means of traffic generation strategies besides SEO, like facebook, youtube and forums.

How long has your site been on the first page? In theory these calculations are correct. In reality, you can expect 60% of CTR per global monthly searches with correlating positions on the first page.

What I can advise you to do is change your meta data and model it to the highest ROI paid results advertisers (PPC) copy to catch the prospects eye in the organic results. You can find these numbers and ad copy over at keywordspy.com and spyfu.com

Leave however the copy that makes you rank in the fist place, but change all the less relevant wording with what you find in your research.

  Give it sometime and keep SEOing your site. Also free Google traffic is not everything. Finding the right people that will buy your product is. There are other ways.

The keyword is getting 1900 exact searches globally every month. A website ranking in the 10th place will not get much of that traffic.

A large some of the visitors focus on the top five listings and the top paid ads by Google. I would guesstimate that over 50% of the traffic is swallowed up by the top 5 listings and the rest of the traffic is scattered to all of the other websites, paid ads, and other relevant search terms provided by Google's suggestion box at the bottom of the page.

Nooo... I said that if you work harder and get it up to at least the 7th position then you will begin to see traffic dripping in - but only the top 3 positions really get most of traffic from Google.

You should also consider that a portion of the searches for a keyword like that is done by internet marketers that are trying to rank for that keyword. Another thing to consider is that the Global Monthly Search figures is an average between a 12 month period. So the searches for this month and last month can be 500 searches while the month of August could have had 3000 searches.

You are right though, you should see at least a few people clicking on your website. I noticed you have Google Analytics installed.

Being on first 10 pages does not mean that you will get lots of traffic....I am third (on a different keyword) and getting lousy traffic from Google. Try emails campaign and so on.Good luck.

Ya there is awstats. But I never analayse that traffic. I think awstas does'nt give accurate result. It also record googlebot traffic as well.

Yep but it is relativity accurate at recording search engine traffic to your website from specific keywords.

Anyways, if there is no problem with your tracking, then you just need to rank higher to get the attention the search engine users. Keep building those links

Yes, I suggest you check out Ed Dale. If you don't know him, he's a very successful aussie marketer and owner of 'the challenge'. It's all free and he basically teaches how to build a network of high pr sites where you can syndicate your content. Once it's setup, you can post to all of them with just one email to posterous. He does it and runs his business basically from his iphone. If you do not want to register, here is the direct link to the training area... The Challenge

I could suggest paid training as well but you would not get your monies worth compared to Ed Dale's stuff so, that why.

Just think of the position and how much number 1-9 gets from traffic.

Get your site up to number 3 (at least) and also target lots of other keywords and you will soon see the traffic increase.

I only notice a major amount of traffic when I am in the top 5.

Hi situ08,

Hopefully you'll be able to push to the top 3 with some link building efforts. I'd try building some good quality Link Wheels if I were you. They have worked so well for me with challenging keywords. I'd imagine "make money online from home" to be a pretty decent one to rank highly for, so definitely keep pushing it up.

Even if you do get people to your site, the english isn't very good and the articles are very basic. I'm not being mean, i'm just telling you the way I see it as somebody who is interested in making money online.

For example, your "92 Ways to Make Money Online" guide just lists 92 websites. That doesn't really help anybody in working out how to use them or how they can make money from them.

I find it ironic that you've made a website about making money online, which advises people on how to do it and yet your not making any money yourself??

You are saying right. But let me explain you one thing. If I start a business today that it does not mean I will start making money from today. And my website is just 8-9 months old and it is on 1st page for a medium competitive keyword. I also agree with you that I myself said that Not getting traffic and my website tells how to get traffic. The difference is Facebook traffic and search engine traffic.

Being on 1st page of Google must get good traffic towards a site, it seems that your site is among those rare which has been affected in someway because of quality work. Well, you must continue with building the quality and quality dofollow backlinks you have created for your site. However I would suggest you to build backlinks from your user specific area where users daily look for these kinds of sites. Do blog commenting and posting on your sites niche blogs, you will get a good conversion rate, I assure!

There are really so many ways to get traffic, only it does not happen overnight. Your blog is really great and has high potential to make much money from f.e advertising sales. I read you have 4000 visitors a month and you have only about 30 posts. Just add 200-300 posts and you get these 4000 visitors in a couple of days if you use mostly SE traffic.

To my minds you have nothing to worry about, if you would add Adsense, you could make $100 a month already with this traffic you have right now.

Apologies for what? When replying I actually forgot to mention I got the numbers from the website, not from WF, this caused the misunderstanding.

Do not know if to believe these numbers it or not, it is just said so there... I checked Alexa for this website, it has a lot of backlinks and the rank under 1,000 000 so that I looks like the stats may be correct. I think we have to encourage this marketer to keep on this work, remember this site and make some final conclusions after 365 days

I checked Alexa for this website, it has a lot of backlinks and the rank under 1,000 000 so that I looks like the stats may be correct. I think we have to encourage this marketer to keep on this work, remember this site and make some final conclusions after 365 days

Sorry, I appreciate there is a language barrier here but that is anything but clear to me. If you'd said "I get lots of traffic but this one keyword eludes me" it would be clear but it wasn't.

Now I know, I can see what you're saying but reading that again, it was not clear I'm afraid. Sorry I didn't fully understand you in the beginning.

Where did you get those figures from? No where has the OP says he/she gets 4000 visits a month. No where at all. He/she has said they don't get a single visitor.

With respect the thread title is "Why my website not getting traffic".

I thought I was dumbstruck earlier, now I'm totally baffled.

In the thread I told that I am not getting visitor from search engine for that particular keyword. Otherwise I am getting traffic.

This is mentioned on the thread starter´s webite on the page "Advertise". There is mentioned website is getting 4000 views a month, I am not sure website owner means unique visitors or pageviews.

That is not funny. Because traffic I am not getting from that particular keyword. Otherwise I am getting traffic from other sources and also from search engines with different keywords.

Put your focus on squidoo, ezine, go articles etc. I get alot of traffic from these sources, it really works.

I have found even having a site #1 on page 1 still did not get the results that were found in the initial research.

Have you considered adding your own youtube video, possibly creating a series of methods that work?

You have a lot of great content, adding categories would help your views focus on what they are interested in trying.

I would say that it's because you're in the IM niche and it's close to the holidays, but I'm in the IM niche, too. My traffic, however, is on a major upswing with the Google updates. I looked at the Google keyword tool, and there are more than 2700 global monthly searches for that term, so it's odd you're not getting any traffic from it.

Perhaps you should dig deeper. Although I have some articles on my blog and get some traffic for broader based keywords, the traffic I get from those pales in comparison to the traffic I get from writing actual product reviews. Although, I must say, the blog post I wrote about how to get a Clickbank refund is quite popular...ha, ha, ha.

I have Google Analytics (2 months of data) on a site 2012shiftelgie dot com. It's been hovering #2 and 3 on Google for the term 2012 shift and 2012 shift in consciousness:
#2 - 2012 shift - 170 exact local
#2 - 2012 shift in consciousness - 91 exact local
93% search traffic Dec7 - 17visits, Dec8 - 16visits, Dec9 - 21visits, Dec10 - 12visits, Dec11 - 17visits, Dec12 - 20visits, Dec13 - 20visits.

It's not owned by me and there is not advertising on it. I would like to put advertising on it and begin experimenting but the owner isn't into it. I'm happy I have analytics on it.

I think I would experiment with the Title and Description first, to see how the clicks changed.

I think you've done a good job on the on-site SEO

you should foucs on serp of your kerword..once it got on top 3 then you can get abt 50 to 60 % traffic against your keyword

I am in the top ten for a keyword that gets 50,000 searches a month. I average 150 clicks per month. At the same time I have a keyword ranked first that gets 1,000 out 3,5000 monthly searches. Position is everything!

You are on 1st position for keyword getting 35000 searches and you just getting 1000. It is not possible. Might be you are watching broad search in google keyword tool.

Feedback is very important for you because when you start any type business then customer look your project how many project you don what is your feedback do you how much experience in your field what is presentation.
First of all check me your sites because if you are sell medicine then in your web sites should show medicine project that show your product and patient buy then look your product.

You said right. But booth these processes are time consuming. Article writing takes lots of time and for bookmarking We have to create accounts on bookmarking sites which is very time consuming. Anyway thanks I am doing these.

Traffic drops off exponentially from 1 to 10. At position 10, you'd be luck to get 1% of the total search volume. So, it might be correct. Also, make sure you're not logged into Google when you check.
