Ok, this one is pretty far-fetched, and other-worldly, but it can work, if you get the STORY right...

to BUY ITSELF...
There are certainly variations on this approach. But let me give one eg.
You use access to the asset as a bonus for a big, phat deal or product
The access is sufficient to make the deal way over the top, driving the buy decision into overdrive...
You therefore sell a ton of the big, phat dealio and PAY FOR THE ASSET
Cool, huh?
Once you get really good at this, why pay for or (gulping hard) FINANCE a major acquisition again? REAL MARKETERS DON'T DO THAT, DO THEY?

- Ideally, pretty much out of reach for most
- Carries some sort of marketing "chops" intrinsically
