Which article directories allow reuse of articles?

Hi,

Which article directories allow the reuse of their articles? Not onto other article directories, but my own sites. And which ones provide high quality content to reusue?

I'd be grateful to know.

Kind regards,

John

Although my own perception in this regard says that you can not post an article again on the same article directory as re-post is not allowed yet I would be happy to know that I am wrong..So anyone here who can enlighten us both??

That won't get you far in IM. Try your best with writing unique content or at least spin the articles.

You can't post the same article twice. Just read the terms of service on these sites, it's better than just believing any old nonsense you hear.

If the OP means can you go to an article directory and put an article on your site, with the author box intact, of course you can, that's what they were invented for.

You're not telling me people in this thread think they were only designed in the first place to get backlinks surely?

Just to clarify this is from Ezine Articles terms of service, number 3...

Your submission to EzineArticles.com also gives unconditional permission for your articles to be reprinted in other ezines, websites and print publications.

      Hi,

      Thanks for your replies.

Which article directories allow use of their articles on to my own sites?

      I'd be grateful to know.

All of them! That's why they exist!!!

See post 5, it's from EZA's Terms of Service. Why don't people just read them?

Good grief, it's true, people actually believe article directories only exist for backlinks.

I think you've misunderstood the question.

The OP is asking if you can take articles from directories and use them on your site, that is what they are designed for.

Have another look at the OP again.

Articles can be re-used as long as you keep the bio info of the author intact. However and as mentioned earlier, it does not give you much exposure and is more to the benefit of the original author. There are so much reasonably priced article writing services around these days that even a "non-talented" writer can easily get 2 or 3 decent articles of around 400 words for only 5 bucks on a forum like Fiverr.com.

    Hi John

The original idea of article directories was to provide a service to webmasters. You could grab an article or two and post them to your site.
The author would benefit because the webmaster was required to leave the article links. The webmaster would benefit because they could source relevant content that would be of interest to their visitors.

Any article directory that does not allow reuse of its articles has rather lost the plot if you ask me. If syndication is not allowed then the author loses out! Ok they have a link or two in the article but the real beneficiary is the directory which monetizes those articles to its own advantage.

Which ones provide high quality content? Do a search of your keywords and see which articles appear in the SERPs results. I would look at individual article quality rather than overall directory quality.

    Cheers

    Paul

For a good traffic source stick to an original content and i dont think there are article directories that accepts one particular article twice, apart from the original content. Try to hire some freelancers or from Fiver you can get someone you can do this for you at a cheaper price.

    Every single one.

That's what an article directory is.

    That's what it's there for.

    That's why it exists.

In submitting their article there, authors are announcing its availability for re-publication. That's the entire purpose of "directories". If that isn't allowed, then by definition the site isn't an "article directory" per se.

There are always TOS, of course, and it's always important to read them.

This little thread explains it fully. http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ries-work.html

The simple answer is to go the various article directories - and read the TERMS there. They will tell you exactly how you can use the articles and what responsibilities you have WHEN you use them.

Those who are claiming you can't do this, or shouldn't or will harm your site are simply wrong. I often use directory articles in addition to my own original content on sites. Just be SURE to include the author's bio are required.

Is it worthwhile to actually put the articles on your website for content?
If you put the articles on your website for content is it better to use them "as is" or spin them? (I'd still leave the author's links in)

I played around with a couple of spinning products. Seemed like a waste of time and it doesn't look like it will fool anyone. It doesn't fool CopyScape.

I recently purchased the base ($77.00 no up sells) Lethal Commission. Part of that software will automatically get articles and post them to your blog. I broke from their system and I learned enough from their product that I have no complaints.

I didn't follow their system but I did load up a couple of blogs with articles from ezinearticles. Both sites are Google dancing on page 7 and 8.

I've been experimenting more with it but this is not the place to go into that. The question is: Does placing content like ezinearticles on my website do me any good or should I just leave it alone altogether? By "any good" I mean search rank.

If you want to share them with your readers/visitors, certainly.

But don't expect huge SEO value from it. You probably wouldn't want all your site's content to be produced that way. But a mixture's ok.

You're not allowed to spin them. The terms of service will always, in reality, require them to be "unchanged"/"unedited".

You think that would make it better?

If you took one of mine from Ezine Articles and spun it, and I found out, I'd just serve a DMCA notice on you. If you spun it and left my name on it, how do you imagine I'd feel? I'd want to do even more than that. I'm a professional writer. You surely can't imagine I want my name on something that someone else has put through a spinner?!

Anyway, this is theft (because you're breaching the TOS), and the answer is "no, you can't do that".

      Ah.

You're defining it all in terms of rankings? :p

In theory, it doesn't do you much good. In reality, not everything works exactly as Google would like it to, 100% of the time, and it can actually do you some good.

Do you ever think about your readers/visitors, or are you just writing/publishing for Google? That nice Mr. Google buys stuff from you, too, does he?

        Think of it this way.

I put up a new site. I've written 10 pages of good, unique content for the site.

I also add 5-6 good, relevant articles by others that I find on article sites.
(I should clarify - ONLY from articles directories - never from someone else's website).

I upload the new site with 15+ pages of relevant content. The unique content that I wrote will get it ranked. As weeks or months go buy I'll write more content for that site and may gradually replace those directory articles with either my own content or new, fresh directory articles.

The site is bigger due to the directory articles - covers more keyword phrases in the niche - and has more authority than a site with only 5-10 total pages of content.

Whether the copied articles rank or not doesn't matter to me in the least.

@Alexa Smith Thank You so much for the very complete response to my questions.
Oh ya' "Terms of Service," forgot about that No Spinning!

"If you spun it and left my name on it, how do you imagine I'd feel?"
I was thinking strictly in terms of the links and not the author. You, of course, have an extremely valid point. Fortunately for me, I didn't do that.

I played with The Best Spinner (software didn't work well on my machine) and SpinChimp. Previous to that I had no idea how they worked. Now I wonder why they exist.

        "Ah.
You're defining it all in terms of rankings? :p "

        Yes, I guess I am.

Article directories don't require "previously unpublished" articles, Maria. (As long as they're submitted by their own owners/authors, of course: nobody's suggesting that they knowingly publish stolen content).

But that isn't what this thread's about, at all.

It's about syndicating articles from article directories and re-publishing them elsewhere - that's the purpose for which article directories exist: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ries-work.html

However many people continue to add additional posts listing some article directories that allow this, they're all missing the simple, factual point that not only do ALL directories allow this, but that serving as a depository for such content, available to be syndicated, is the reason for their existence.

I've often wondered if using syndicated content on a site has a positive a affect on a site's rankings or not. The general assumption is the Google will ignore the content since it's not the first posting.

However, I'm inclined to think that if you mix it with original content, like Alexa said, it just may help your ranking. Maybe for the main keyword, maybe not, but I think you may be able to rank them for their sub-keywords (assuming you use them to target sub-keywords).

I remember a five-star thread on here where the OP talked about how he made 10K a month and got huge traffic. I don't recall the details, but I know his income basically consisted of a huge site that had both original and syndicated content (not necessarily from article directories, though), and he used some SEO software/plugins to rank for multitudes of keywords.

    Alexa,

You poor innocent young child . . .

Why in the world would anyone want to actually read a thread here at the Warrior Forum? Didn’t you know that the sole purpose of posting here is to get some backlinks for your signature link? And perhaps get a few misguided* individuals to click the link.

*(They must be misguided – no one else would even consider them after reading the drivel they post)

After all what other possible purpose could there be for being a member of the Warrior Forum? I realise that a few innocent, naive people have suggested things like learning, networking, making friends, making money, getting great advice, etc.

    But really . . .
