I've received my 2nd Clickbank cheque... now what?

Hey all,

Wow, I haven't been on this forum for a while. I've been diligently working on my campaigns to varying degrees of success and just cashed in my 2nd Clickbank cheque ever for about $140 Aussie dollars.

I'm planning on starting a new campaign in the relationship niche, but haven't conducted much research yet. I've also got a blog set up in the fitness niche, hosted on my own domain that isn't really SEO-optimised.

I guess what I'm trying to get at is, for someone who's had about 8 months of AM experience, what's the best way I could spend $140 AUD to make my campaign(s) better?

Cheers,

Johnson.

    1. Get a sales letter written.
    2. Buy a graphics package for a mini-site.
    3. Get a good book on SEO.
    4. Go out to dinner to celebrate...?

Get a useful keyword tool like MicroNicheFinder and research the keywords in niches that interest you.

Examine the results this produces along the following lines:

Remember, the broader the niche keyword, the broader their interest.

If you are wanting to make SALES look for keywords that are more targeted and further along in the buying chain and build a website once you have identified keywords that are more closely aligned with specific products and are used by people who are ready to BUY.

      For instance:

      Keyword: HDTV

Anyone using this broad keyword is still researching and looking for information on the subject. Their interest is too general and distant from a buying decision.

      Keyword: HDTV 42"

Getting closer to a decision and would be suitable for a broader site that would build up as an authority site covering this area. Still not quite ready to buy.

      Keyword: Samsung 42" HDTV

This searcher has done the research and has a good idea of what is wanted and is ready to buy if a good deal can be found. Much closer to a buying decision. This is the ideal entry point for a website that attracts willing buyers and is relatively less competitive. Build a site optimized for good ranking in the search engines, build back links, and send traffic with PPC.

Do your keyword research first, find a product that meets your requirements, build a website targeting that product and promote it for both organic search engine traffic and PPC traffic. PPC will bring you customers while you are waiting for the search engine traffic to build and will provide you with more info about the sort of keywords that convert into sales.

With the results of your keyword research on hand, the next steps to take will be much clearer - look for a product. When you've identified one, join as an affiliate of the merchant who can supply that product, such as Amazon, Commission Junction, Shareasale, etc.
