Entrance to Internet Business

Hey All,

My father just got laid off, and wants me to help him start some sort of internet business for some extra cash. He has 1.5 months of no work, so he has all the time he needs. Also, English is his second language.

My question is, what kind of internet business should I help him start.. something simple, doesn't matter if it is time consuming or high maintenance. Something that doesn't require too much training or English skills.

Thanks.

Change that 1.5 months to 1.5 years. That's what it's taken me to finally see some money roll in and I was at IM every SINGLE day. Take more action, learn and take even more action.

I would start an internet business helping internet businesses, or even offline businesses.

That's usually a good place to start.

Very sorry to hear about your father losing his job. Quite a few people I know have lost their jobs recently too.

Pretty much anything you get started with online is going to take some training and learning. There really isn't anything besides surveys and article writing which will make you cash the same day that is worth it. To build a nice recurring income every month is going to take some effort and determination.

If you want to go with the website building method you will need some patience and time. Once you understand how the gears work so to speak, then you are able to refine your methods and replicate, but he will need to learn. How fast he picks things up as well as how much time you have to help and learn will depend on how quickly you begin seeing earnings.

At what can he excel? From my first year at this, I can say that it's not really a "get rich overnight" venture as some make it to be.

I would suggest seeing what he likes to do and go from there. Otherwise, you may jump from technique to technique without making any money, but only spending money and wasting time.

I suggest checking out the Academy link in my signature once you have written more posts because it is a place where newbies can learn the ins and outs of business.
Let me know if you need more info.
Starting from scratch isn't easy to do so he will need persistence and focus.

What is he experienced in? Where did he work? Can he leverage his experience in a niche online?

  • 1) Make a list of the topics/niches/industries/hobbies he's experienced, knowledgeable and/or passionate about.

    2) Create a Squeeze Page (I'm sure you know what that is) in order to build a mailing list in that specific niche.

    3) Create a USEFUL news letter through which you help your users plus you promote related products.

    4) Drive traffic to your squeeze page.

    5) Eventually create a product in that niche.

I will suggest for you to go into research...head over to Click bank or Amazon look for the recently bought products, there you will see different niches pick the one that interests and start an online business. Buy eBooks on IM. Basically you don't really need to have a website before starting off. I hope this helps.

Internet Marketing is NOT a way to generate short-term cash and solve financial problems. The odds are that it will be a cash DRAIN for months before you break even. I would secure some kind of full-time income and stability first and let IM be the next level you work up to in the meantime.
