Article Syndication Question

Hi everyone,

I have just taken on a Spanish client who has over 250 great quality articles on her website. Im thinking of getting some of the articles syndicated but not sure if this would work with Spanish content?

Do you think it would work if i got the articles translated to English{not using Google but human translation} and then submit them to a few directories?

If you have the Spanish client's permission, I don't really see what would be wrong with that. If you don't then obviously you are not allowed:rolleyes:.

Is the entire site in Spanish only? Think about the people who speak only English, find an English article, click through to a Spanish site, and get a surprise.

Thanks for all your replies. I have taken on board all your comments and i think Zabrina is right on the money with here reply.

So with that question out of the way i think its obvious that i should keep the articles my client has in Spanish. Now i still want to get some of these syndicated so here is another question?

Does anyone know of a good Spanish content syndication network where i could get some of these articles submitted?

Do a search using spanish keywords/phrases ie "articulos espanol". You will be pleasantly surprised that it is much easier and faster to rank sites in spanish (or in any foreign language) as there is far less competition.

    It depends..

If you want to screw your client over, ask for his permission and he'll unwillingly approve of you sending him visitors that don't convert, but could potentially harm his site, due to an increase in bounce rate and a lower time on site - which should be an important seo factor in the latest google updates.

Of course he'll be getting quality backlinks in a way, however, sending english speaking people to spanish websites (or chineese for what matter).. how do you think the traffic converts? How easy don't you think the smartest brains on earth (the google team) would counter that?

Do local seo on the local language, period. If you can't, outsource!

Quality backlinks ... ? Not quite. The purpose of syndication is getting the content in front of lots of eyes through being posted on content-alike blogs ... not growing backlinks to play that silly little "Google game."
Contextual backlinks from article syndication is one of the strongest backlinks you can get, so I'd say he needs to elaborate on what he expects to gain from that.

I totally agree with you that relying purely on organic traffic isn't the way to go. (my business strategy is 'word of mouth' and not tedious SEO) However, if you don't outsource, but do it yourself putting your heart and soul into it and not trying to (over) optimize it, I believe the risk is very small that Google will hit you hard one day.

Tiff, I don't really see where we disagree? However many websites (autoblogs etc) will syndicate even junk articles, because they subscribe for news feeds from the article directories.. But then again, auto blogs, really isn't exactly the best backlink either.

I guess not all website owners click through to check the link in the resource box, and I believe some will post it if the content is good, regardless of where the link is pointing.

In addition to the point made by Joe above, whether this can work at all obviously depends on:

    (1) How good the articles actually are, and how applicable they are (or can be made) to an English audience.

    (2) The translating and writing skills of whomever you employ to do it.

    (3) The judgement of all involved parties.

Don't let the magic get lost in translation.

And if they're already excellent articles, you should have no problems syndicating them as-is to Spanish sites? Don't worry if there's a lack of Spanish article directories, they're not needed. For maximum leverage you shouldn't rely exclusively on the passive syndication of article directories anyway; engage in active syndication - send those articles directly to publishers.

Been looking into article syndication, but I find it really .. It seems that most article sites are 1997 style of websites, and I really don´t want that. Are there any really good ones?

    Hi,

I'm Spanish, and I havent found a article submission service neither blog network to submit articles.

I usually use article directories, free blogging and paid reviews in other blogs to submit articles and get contextual backlinks.
