Is it always good to go for quality links all the time or is acceptable to go for quantity at some point? High pr websites related to yours, high pr directories, articles on strong Pr directories are some of the strong links I'm referring to. But what about the links that you get from random link exchanges or from sites that don't hold much weight but you can get links from them fast and easy?

I am not totally sure but I have read in some other forums where people claim the PR of the site/blog or whatever you get your links for does not matter.

well when doing link building, you may want to consider the Page rank of the linking page rather the page rank of the site or the home page of the linking site. this is another big misconception that most people misunderstand. and you should go for quality rather than quantity.. qualities basically means the PR of the linking page and also if there are other links appear in the linking page or not. |

You need both quality and quantity. Low quality quantity links are easier to get, of course, and they're great for getting a site indexed and spidered regularly. However, it usually takes 100's of these to rank well for most moneymaking keywords. Mid quality links would be links from higher PR (4+) sites that are not contextual, such as sidebar blogroll links, and don't have your anchor text in the keyword or they can be lower PR sites (3 or less) where the link is contextual and your keyword anchor text is used. These links aren't too difficult to get and are pretty effective in all but the toughest niches. High quality links are contextual links with your anchor text from higher PR sites that are in the same or related niche. These links are hard to get but are very effective. The best strategy is to concentrate at first on getting just about any link you can then work your way up the scale. |
