A platform that allows users to download

I'm planning to build a simple web platform that allows users choose products from categories, and download. There may be quite a few of products, so it's kind of hard to just create a download page out of a simple html file.

Are there any recommended scripts that allows me to install and do this?

Any recommended plugins for wordpress that allows me to do this?

    Is that the sort of thing you're looking for?

    If you're looking for a solution where users have to pay for access to the downloads, you could look into WordPress Membership Plugins. The very best I've found is fairly new, free to use, and called s2member:
