When to use an autoresponder???

I'm wondering at what point should I consider using an autoresponder on my niche blogs? Traffic wise I mean... does it make sense to have one up and running immediately or should I wait for x amount of traffic before throwing one up??? Any thoughts?

Umm... ok... umm, why would you need to know that?

@ ALL, thanks for the advice. You guys are telling me what my gut was saying to me already. I was thinking like Bob B, that I may only get 1 subscriber today but it may end up being my best repeating customer. To not do it seems like walking away from money. It also makes more sense now thinking that I should likely get used to the system before my site gets flooded with traffic (or so I hope) and I panic trying to figure the thing out.

List building is not an overnight process. So start right away by giving away free reports or free ebooks etc. (Some free stuff that is useful for your subscriber)

Then start sending good info based on your niche.

Maintain consistent contact with your list.

        Good luck!

I'd start it right off the bat, but I'd try to keep costs as low as possible. The reason to start off the bat is to automate the process for yourself. You want to ensure a consistent experience for your audience, and more importantly, you want a predictable marketing strategy that you can trace from start to finish, otherwise you'll have to synchronize things, which is a headache.

I would suggest starting immediately. You know... "money is in the list". The sooner the better.

Definitely straight away. Image this: that person who visited your blog today might have become your biggest customer or best affiliate - but you'll never know now because you didn't get the chance to build a relationship.

Don't rely on people using RSS. Some people don't understand it, some can't be bothered.
