I subscribe to Scott Lilly's Moving Overseas And Living Overseas.

He has just posted some good information for those Americans that are living overseas.

Originally, you'd be required to do this additional reporting if you have more than US$ 50,000 in certain types of accounts overseas. However, the IRS released some updates the other days.

    Thanks for posting that- always good to keep up with latest tax info.

    He doesn't mention FBAR requirements which is only $10K in banks, and hasn't changed.

    I dont think the writer is a lawyer or tax accountant- so I'd double check on any advice!

      You're 1,000% correct. Each person should run stuff they find by there own "tax people."
