I have activated the WP Super Cache plugin on my blog. I tested the speed with WebPageTest.org and it shows even more time to load the page before the plugin installed. I am a bit confused, but I myself feel the speed is improved. Would you help me to test and tell me your experience? Daily Deal Diary Dot Com

And there is an advanced option from WP Super Cache. Should I enable this option? And how does it help to improve my web page speed?

Don’t cache pages for known users.

There should be an option there that says enable page cache or something. Try that out and it should load faster. That's an option that people miss out on to enable the plugin's full potential.

I don't use WP Super Cache anymore (I use Hyper Cache), but if you're still logged into your site as admin, the cache plugins usually won't cache the site for you. So be sure to log out, if you want to experience it like a normal visitor would. Also, some plugins (like Hyper Cache) allow you not to cache the front page, so make sure you test some other pages.

All-in-all, most cache plugins work and will save you bandwidth and speed up your site in the long run.

You may not have it configured correctly.

Keep in mind that the main idea of the caching plugins for WP is to reduce the load that WP places on a server when putting together a page. There is a lot of script processing involved, and more than a few database reads. If you have few plugins, and a theme that does its job efficiently, it's not likely that you'll see much improvement in page load times. What you will see, if your site has much traffic, is a decrease in the resources that the server requires to serve each page.

If you do have quite a bit of traffic, your visitors will experience faster page loading simply because the server doesn't have to work so hard to serve an HTML page as it does to put together a WP page.
