Please Help Me Before WP Makes Me Loose My Mind

INTERNET MARKETING

I'm seriously about to pull my hair out! I know this has to be a simple task but I can't for the life of me figure it out.

Ok. On my WP blog the main page is a "post" and the rest of the site is "page".

My "pages" include pages about "tips" and then product reviews, each on a different page.

I want to add categories on the right hand side and then put the "tips" pages where they belong and the "review" pages where they belong.

I went into the widgets and added 3 categories: "tips"; "books"; software". but I can't figure out how to get the tips pages under the tips category. I know you can do it.

Please help me!!!!!!

Pages are out of the loop from posts. They are for static content, like contact, about, etc...

I'm not sure what you have to do to incorporate categories into pages, but the simple solution is to just post them as posts, and not pages, and give them whatever category you want.

Pages do not have categories.

You can only add categories for your 'Posts'

Pages and Posts are two separate entities.

I'm using wordpress 2.7 and can set 'parent' page - so I could make a page called tips, then create more pages under that.

And the SEO benefits depend on the theme, as long as it's a good theme, there will be no difference. Especially if the pages get sent out to your RSS feeds etc.

You can however make levels for Pages, eg a top level parent page and then sub-pages under that.
