How to get more sales??

Hey WF,

I run a web design company (Akitso Web Design Give your Website a Kick, great wordpress themes and custom wordpress web development. ») and recently we've run 4 or 5 deals on group buying business websites such as groupprice or bizzbuzz. These deals have been very very profitable for us, and have gotten us lots of dozens of new clients, not to mention profit!

We do discount our services on group buying websites, but the way our business is set up minimizes production costs in every area so we can sell our services for really low and still make a decent profit.

My problem is that these group buying deals, represent 80% of the companies revenue (the other 20% comes from upselling clients, print ads, affiliates, etc)

And with group buying websites, you can only run a deal for a week or two at most and I'll make most of my revenue for the quarter from just a few weeks of group buying deal success.

So what is the best way to promote the price point? Group buying works so well for us, so what does this mean in terms of trying other mediums to get sales?

    Hi Nick,

    Have you ever considered a more localised geographic focus, i.e. approach your local chamber of commerce and offer your services via a 2 tier marketing approach. At first offer to speak at their monthly/quarterly members gathering, on a topic like say "The advantage of web marketing" or do/don'ts etc.

    This talk must be 90% informational and only the last few miniutes to be about the services you offer. You then offer a freebie like revamping a site or even a new one to those that do not have. Rinse and repeat by approaching other interest groups i.e. professional bodies like architects, engineers etc. At these monthly gatherings, members are usually very hungry for new marketing information, especially those who are self-employed.

    Ths sky is virtually the limit and the only restriction is your imagination. Let me know once you have success or whether I am making sense at all.
