Datafeed to RSS Plugin

I am looking for a script or plugin that will convert an affiliate companies datafeed to RSS.

I am looking to use this in companion with some autoblogging on wordpress.

So if you know of a wordpress plugin that will allow me to easily import a datafeed, convert one to RSS that would be great.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Check out Teli Adlam's Wordpress Datafeed Import Script - it puts it straight into WP for you! Also, if you just need RSS for something else, I believe she has a script for that as well.

    Thanks for the help,

I found those earlier, but one is $137, and the RSS is $49, and I really cant justify spending that kind of money on a plugin until I know I am making money off of this system.

    Again, thanks anyway though.

I'd like to keep that to myself because of some plans for niche marketing.

I will definitely tell you it is not any of the major Internet Marketing Affiliate Companies (CJ, Azoogle, etc)

Thanks for offering anyway. I don't really see how which company it comes from makes a difference. I am just looking for a simple tool.

I'm interested in including this method in my next version of Rogue RSS Profits, so I might be willing to help you out at no cost, if I can then use the information in my videos later. I'm not asking to reveal your niches or sites though.

I have extensive experience with Yahoo! Pipes and I think I can help you with this. Are the datafeeds secure with user/pass?

PM me if you're interested in talking about this further,
        Karen

Hmm decided to go ahead and test this out with Yahoo! Pipes. I grabbed a data feed from Shareasale (for BabyEarth - approx 8900 items in datafeed) and downloaded the pipe delimited datafeed file.

I uploaded this to a domain of mine and then imported it into a Yahoo! Pipe with the csv module. In debug mode I can get it working great, and easily replace within the datafeeds product links my Shareasale user id.

But in run mode (actually saving and running the pipe) it bombs out. Apparently Yahoo! Pipes can't handle it, the # of items to sift through is too large I would imagine.

I'm wondering are all the datafeeds from Shareasale of the same format? Meaning they all adhere to the same # of columns and definitions? If so I'm going to write up a php script that converts a Shareasale datafeed to RSS.

Do you really want the entire datafeed contents within the RSS? Kinda defeats the purpose of RSS which is to update when content on a site gets updated. What is your end purpose for utilizing the RSS?

Are you simply trying to find a way to display the datafeed products on your website? You don't need to convert it to RSS to accomplish that.

We've tried them all (or at least everyone that we could find!): ADSP2, Teli, Datafeedr, StoreStacker. Yes, we've spent some money doing it - and still have found what I consider to be the 'perfect' one.

The problem is that either you have to spend too much time 'manipulating' the feeds (and some of these data feeds are huge - or they don't auto update - and that is after all, the ultimate point of all of this. I don't want to be manually updating the feeds every day.

Datafeedr gives you the best selection of programs to choose from - but not every merchant from every program is included. ADSP2 auto updates but is only ShareASale. StoreStacker is good but the templates are difficult to work with and I admit to being kind of picky about the way my stores look.

Right now - we are building out using a mix of Datafeedr, ADSP2 and phpBay. One thing that is kinda neat - a new store (48 hrs old) has over 200 pages already indexed in the big G!

And it took about 2 hrs to build - and that included the learning curve!

The power of datafeeds and wordpress

The only other solution is (have someone) build something custom. I am doing that for my affiliateprograms and it's a bit of a mixture of datafeedr, feedwordpress and phpbay. Main problem is the number of feeds and problems you run into like non uniform names, invlid feeds etcetc. But using wordpress and the programs you mention you can build a lot of sites fast and that is also the key. Most of the people are looking for the perfect site they want to build...and wait to build it in the process

I am very interested in working with this method of manipulating a datafeed to automate a wordpress blog but I really have no idea how to get started.

Melody you seem to have some kind of great system working there, would you mind sharing some tips?

    Thanks
