Alexa shows you your site's "rank"...which is just basically a measure of where you site ranks compared to other websites as far as how much traffic it gets.

It's a bit misleading, though, because only those web surfers who have the Alexa toolbar installed can affect your Alexa ranking...unless you have the Alexa widget installed on your website.

Conversely, Google Page Rank is a measure of how many external backlinks are pointing to your website, as well as the overall quality of those backlinks.

They are two very different things.

They are actually both, in and of themselves, meaningless for SEO. What is important for SEO is on-page and off-page optimization. As ele mentions above, Alexa is just a (somewhat manipulated) measure of traffic. However, PR is supposed to be a measure of the overall authority of the page which has the PR, which is related to SEO, but not a cause for good rankings.

The reason people talk about PageRank so much is because it does generally (although inaccurately) correlate to the overall authority of the page. In and of itself, it will not help you rank in Google, however.

In more then 80% of all the tests we did (and do every month) the pages with HIGHER pagerank beat any page with LOWER pagerank. There are exceptions - but they are that: exceptions. And usually a G update solve that exception. Sometimes to create a new one, for sure, but still, an exception.

Plus, we have the experience of dealing with BIG customers for SEO purposes, and vast majority of them have the money and knowledge to know (as we do) they prefer a PR7 incontent backlink, then 7K backlinks from small sites/lower PR webpages - and they pay for it thousands of euros.

      Why?

Cause thats the difference for them to make more millions this year OR NOT.

But this discussion is usually very funny. Let me get a coffee and some biscuits.

People make good money selling to the rich. But the rich got rich selling to the masses.

    thanks guys, for your answer.
    This made me more understand

    so conclusions is
Google PR not guaranteed for good position / rankings on expected keyword.
Alexa is not a measure valid traffic of the a website.
And they not affect each other.

    it's that correct?
