No, I'm not holding a contest like that but, Just like the title says, has anyone had any success with blog contest like this? I saw one like this for the animax lamb contest Animax LaMB Blogging Contest with Danny Choo as Guest Judge | Asia Animax What do you think about this? If you do it right the effect would be great for your brand, traffic, and backlinks? |

Hey krishananda, Yes, I've seen similar things done to get blogs off and running, and for branding too. Only most of the ones I've seen gave out high end products instead of cash. These products ranged from $1500 - 5K including personal coaching. But the 3-4 people that held these contests were already pretty well know in the IM arena. The contests simple helped them to go viral for whatever product they were selling at the time, build up content, and put another feather in their cap. ![]() I did see one contest that gave out cash, but they only offered $200. It turned out to be like people say when you try to take the cheaper way out. He got what he paid for in other words, and that wasn't much notoriety. ![]() Mary |

The link that I gave above also give away game products instead of money, I did a little search for blog contests and you're right Mary, most only give products and little money, And the cheaper they offered, the less buzz they'll get. But still, a great way for viral marketing. I figure some great brands might have had success in blog contests, but how about the not-so-famous IMers? |
