Help In Pricing My Website

I have a website that I am looking to sell, and I am just unsure how much I should sell it for.

Some info about it:

  • It has been indexed and is getting some organic traffic. Traffic ranges from 30 to 50 a day, and is increasing
  • It has unique content, and I am adding articles to it as we speak
  • Comes with a PR3 Squidoo lens that is bringing in 550 to 600 visits a week
  • It is already making sales, on average $79 a month, but as traffic increases I am sure the sales will increase also
So, with all that, I do not want to just give it away, but I also do not want to overprice it.

Your help would be definitely appreciated

Most sites sell for 12 to 24 months revenue, this can vary based on the quality of the traffic, age of the site/domain, quality of the domain, etc.

If you are currently making $79 a month the average sale price would be in the $1400 range. If you spend some time tracking sales of websites you will find the 12 to 24 month revenue range to be pretty accurate.

Well honestly, with a great Squidoo page and $79 a month, I would keep the site and just work on the targetted traffic. But you are going to hear that a lot.

If you make a great description for your website on Flippa, you should be able to sell it for as much as $2500. But you have to make a goal price and commit to it or you won't get near what you want for the site.

A general rule of thumb is 10-24x the monthly revenue...

I do think that having a high pr Squidoo page should help in achieving at least a bit more money for the sale.

One thing for me is to sell a site for what I believe it is worth. Try to throw sentimental stuff to the side and think to yourself what you would pay. If you are happy with that price, then work to get that price out of it...or at least ballpark.

Thanks guys, I actually do not want to sell the site, it is just unfortunate that I need the money.

I also believe the Squidoo page is part of the reason why the offer should be attractive to buyers, because it is on page one of Google for the keyword

I am off to list it now, working on the description and hoping for the best

    Thanks for all your input

I am curious on how you plan to include the squidoo lens in the package. Are you going to transfer it to someone. What if they do not have a squidoo account. It could also loose a lot of value in the transfer. If you just say that you are going to keep the squidoo lens as is then how can the buyer trust you that your not gonna change lens outgoing link?

The plan is to transfer the lens to them. If they do not have an account, they will simply have to open one, as it is easy and free to do.

I doubt the lens would lose value, just by transferring it. i have done a few transfers in the past and it has never been an issue.

    List it on Flippa.com

You should get, at minimum, around $500. The only way to find out is to list it.

I have seen websites with similar stats sell for an upwards of $1,000. It varies depending on the amount of potential your website has in the future, your websites design and usability, the quality of your website's content, the traffic stats you have available, the proof of income, and your ability to create convincing content for your Flippa listing.

From my experience Flippa sites generally go for 10-15 months revenue. That being said, you're also including that PR3 lens which I think is valuable in itself so I'd say you should set a minimum of 18 months revenue and set the BIN for 24 months.

"TAKE ACTION" is the first thing everyone tells you and then they leave it at that. I'll add a second part: TRACK EVERYTHING" - It's the only way to ensure your ACTION leads to results.
