A retired person venturing in to IM

I want to start IM with an objective to have a steady source of income after retirement. I know a little bit of computers, mainly, MS word, Excel, e-mailing, surfing & use social sites such as fb. I understand, I will have to learn & practice a lot. I request members to suggest me first four to five steps, I should follow/learn/do in order of priority. A little elaboration about how to follow/do these steps will be very helpful. After I have learnt/practice these four to five steps, I will follow the rest of steps & learn/practice whatever is further required.

    I'm afraid this question is too broad for anyone to be able to help you. Spend some time looking around the forum and find out which business models you might be interested in. Use the search function and the all in one threads to learn more about those models.

    Then ask very specific questions. There are many warriors who will be willing to help you. But there are many different types of businesses that involve IM and no one can tell you which one is best for you.

    I will definitely be selecting a business in due course. In the meantime to utilise my time, firstly I want to prepare myself by learning/practicing tools which would be usefull in IM.

    Secondaly, to start with I am thinking of finding & promoting some good products. If the members can guide me how this can be done.

      Please excuse an observation that may sound critical: I think you're putting the cart before the horse, here. Which learning/practising tools, and which techniques, are necessary/advisable/worthwhile depends on your business model.

      Ok, this is a little more productive. So, you're thinking of "affiliate marketing", yes?

    Here's what I suggest:

    1. Learn the basics like troubleshooting browsers, video-audio settings, and esp. PC troubleshoot.

    2. Take it one step at a time.

    3. Watch tutorial videos. If you'd like to learn on a specific application, you may watch tutorial videos as your guides.

    4. Research. I believe you want to start with IM, then start getting your hands on the details on what and how IM is all about.

    5. Be Patient. Internet Marketing will give you a lot of labor and work, and you have to be more patient on this.
