Lots of views but no sales?

Hello fellow warriors.

2 days ago my partner and I launched our very first WSO. This was a plugin creator by our english freelancer. We launched the thread in the hope of making a solid income here on WF. We had lots of views (700+ so far), but yet no sales? I don't really get it. Imo we have a kickass sales letter, an original idea and a cathy headline. Why ain't things working our?

I'd love to hear some fellow warriors opinion!
Thanks

Interesting. I have been considering the WSO route but have been trying to figure out how people know what will sell. Is it trial and error or do people research it first?

Same here. Did the same thing last week and no sales... 243 views to be exact and not a single sale. Good luck on that one...

      Hi

If the WSO you are referring to is the link in your sig then I think it is really the sales copy and presentation that are hurting your WSO.

The headline isn't very attention grabbing nor appealing. Learn to set up WordPress in 24 hours? I can find a 3 minute video on YouTube that will show me how to do the same thing in 20 minutes.

Also a phrase like: How to easily choose your website address sounds a little off or out dated when "domain name" is more properly what you mean.

Your copy could be improved with some bullet points that give better information to elevate you product over all the free WordPress set-up information that is out there.

The angle of your sales pitch is "setting up wordpress". For what you describe, you are charging a very steep price.

      However--

You mention a few things in passing that seem to indicate we will be getting more of a marketing or site design system than a Wordpress install tutorial.

      - "My Social List Builder Technique". Is this for traffic? backlinks? Ranking?
      - "Exact plugins to get ranked in hours or days" For what Amazon sites? Adsense sites? Member sites? Any site you want?
      - "step by step done for you system" If this is what we are getting then why are you selling it as "Set Up Wordpress in under 24 hours"?

The way you describe and market the product makes it seem of dubious value as most of the selling features can be found free on YouTube.

Then to see a pretty high price. Ouch.

If you believe you have a system beyond just setting up a WP site, describe that more and sell the whole system.

Also, if this is a successful system for you, you could describe a bit about that. Not necessarily "proof of income" screen shots or anything, but just something like:

My first four web sites made zero money. I was desperate blah blah Then I had an idea so I tried it blah blah only made $10 but it was a start blah blah now I have over a dozen authority sites and I can set a new one up in under an hour often getting indexed in Google and generating traffic within 24 hours.

Of course it would be better if it was your story and it was true

Nope, no refunds at all. That is the funny part. We made around 12 sales or so, and they all seem to like it. That is why I am wondering why it ain't converting better.

Your WsO looks like a good offering and a tool with several applications. I do have a couple of thoughts that may be a factor in the conversion rate that your experiencing. First, my advice is not based on personal success with launching WSO's, as I am planning my first launch within a few weeks. However, I have many years of online and off line marketing experience and have been looking at some of the common elements one sees in successful WSOs.
With that in mind here you go.

    1. The plug-in clearly has many applications for various marketing strategies and goals. You might consider walking people through some of these strategies whether it be list building, cpa, social bookmarking, or whatever. Help the visitor see themselves using it successfully and making profit with it.

    2. I noticed that there is not very much in the way of testimonials. Social proof is huge when it comes to conversions, especially on the WF. That is where the value of sharing review copies or early bird discount copies comes in.

    3. You may consider a stronger call to action. Sometimes creating a little scarcity or fear of loss can get people off of the fence to take action. Don't get crazy with this but by simply placing price points at various time interval, or just using the dime sale method may make a substantial difference. Grabbing something before a price increase can be a very effective motivation to buy now.

Anyway there you go for what is worth. It looks like an above average value and a great tool.

    Best of Success,
    Kevin

Okay, I'm going to give it to you straight. First, your thread title is boring. It's supposed to grab attention but it doesn't. It's even confusing because people won't have any clue what [WP Video Cobra] is. That's a huge waste of space.

The copy isn't very exciting. But you do have something there that's valuable. Those are your bullets. They aren't really listed as conventional bullets because they've got big icons to the left.

But the points you make about protection, going viral and the rest of it is valuable stuff. You need to create a thread title using benefits from those bullets. Then you need some compelling copy... benefit-oriented copy based on the stuff you've got in those descriptions.

This thing isn't that bad it just needs some serious adjusting. Good luck.

You want to try and be more exact, more precise with the thread title for starters Mathias. The one you've chosen to use isn't exactly the most enticing one I've ever clapped eyes on.

Sock a massive benefit straight between the eyeballs of your target audience. Tell them exactly how this will benefit them.

Similarly... when I start reading your WSO sales copy there's glaring errors from the start.

Let's give you a quick lesson in the art of copywriting / crafting the perfect sales letter...

Many sales letters start off with a preheader...

The purpose of this preheader, which should be kept very short and to the point (no more than 6-8 words), is to get the reader to read the main headline.

Moving on to the main headline, this serves a dual purpose...

...first, it must bang out your single biggest benefit so the reader is left under no illusion what this product or service will do for them. This main headline is of paramount importance. Many sales letters success or otherwise literally hinges on this main headline. Get it right and watch your sales soar. Get it wrong and you pay the consequences.

Secondly, your main headline... on grabbing the readers interest must inspire the reader to read the first sentence. Keep the main headline to 16 words or less. And spend as much time on this main headline as you can. Many of the professional copywriters including myself, on this forum and elsewhere recommend you spend as much time on the main headline as you do writing out the rest of the sales copy.

Write out in the space of 1 hour 50 main headlines. This exercise will really get you thinking about the single biggest benefit you have to offer to your target audience. Use power verbs if possible.

    Now, moving on...

Your first sentence needs to be kept extraordinarily short, no more than 6 words. Why? Because again the first sentence serves one single purpose only and that is to get the reader to read the 2nd sentence down.

If you write too much in your 1st sentence, chances are you'll overwhelm your reader/s with too much information at the start and they'll click out pretty quickly. By keeping the 1st sentence very short followed with an ellipse like this...

The reader will quickly slip down to read the 2nd sentence down. And the purpose of the 2nd sentence down, what is it, do you know?

    Purely this...

...to get the reader to read the 3rd sentence down. In effect creating a slippery sales funnel where the eye and the emotional mind of the viewer is being systematically drawn downwards into the body of your sales letter.

It's what we call in the trade 'gravity pulling sales copy'. In other words creating a slippery sales slope.

Now your moving into the deck, the introduction... this is where you start priming or warming up the readers emotions for whatever it is that you're about to offer them.

Many copywriters here might use a number of questions which really only leave room for one answer in the subconscious mind of the reader. In other words, ask questions to which the only real answer is to say, "Yes!"

What we're doing here is switching off the conscious mind so the unconscious mind (the emotional mind) makes the buying decision as easy as possible. Switching off the logical part of the mind which is always seeking for justification of the purchase price.

Remember, every single word in each sentence, in each paragraph will be playing with your audience emotions and they'll be asking themselves one question only... "What's in this for me?"

So try and put yourself into their shoes, directly into the shoes of your target market to think and feel how they feel in the situation to which you are trying to position your product, as the perfect solution to their problem.

In other words... delivering to them an emotional switch out, shifting the emotion of your targeted readers / traffic away from emotional frustration and pain to pleasure at finding the ideal solution for their needs right at this moment.

Each sub main headline should also contain another major benefit. And the text which follows each of these sub main headlines? It should follow up the highlighted benefit with more justification to negate every possible chance that your readers might say no to your offer.

In effect, you want them nodding their head in agreement with you from start to finish.

Mix up your words with short punchy sentences. And longer sentences. Keep your sales copy conversational like you would if you were talking with a good friend. Use good connectors with ellipses... to keep the reader always wanting more and when finally you do reach the end... use a very strong and direct call to action.

Tell your readers exactly what is required of them to do next. Like sheep they need to be told what to do. You are the composer of your own words. Orchestrate them well, bring all the elements together in unison and you'll be getting more and more sales by the day.

I better stop there because at this rate I'll be writing all night but there's certainly enough here for starters for you to be going on.

Mathias, apply these simple copywriting techniques and you should see plenty more sales coming in.

The very best of luck to you,

    Mark Andrews...

    I would change the title.

Here is something to think about: The sales thread looks good, but it's not one that is converting well.

I used to have the same problem with a site, I got lots of views but people were just no getting my product. After a guy opening my eyes with the words that my site actually look really good, but wont convert at all I asked him several questions, he didn't answered any.

However, there are tons of books describing the call-to-action, how to make better sales letters/threads and how to make something to convert well. It's a whole science in my opinion as I have read a lot about it.

Check some books, educate yourself over that, I guarantee you that you wont waste your time on it.

    Cheers,

Ok you said you got no sales, then later you say you got 12 sales which was in just 2 days.

Or I guess the idea is to start a new thread in every forum, keeping bumping them regularly till you get "Real" sales.

In addition to the great advice from other Warriors above, I agree that your WSO title is hurting your conversions.

The number of views you get is fairly untargeted because you don't reveal enough information in your subject. If you added that it was a WordPress plugin, you would get a higher proportion of views from people with an interest in a WP Plugin. As it is, it sounds like video marketing.

Your product seems pretty slick and the feedback and reviews have been good. Did you do any preparation before launching the WSO? Did you offer copies to other WF members who could give some pre-launch reviews, be affiliates for you and announce the launch to their lists?

It looks like a plugin that established affiliates with large lists would be interested in promoting.

Look for members who have had previous successful WP Plugin WSOs or WSOs with systems like CPA that would benefit from a plugin like yours.

This kind of pre-launch work can really pay off.

    Here's my confusion on this...

    You say -

This was a plugin creator by our english freelancer.
I have done some research into this plugin and found it all over the place. How long ago did your guy "create" this?

    {Link removed by moderator}

It may not be getting a bunch of sales because from what I have found in just 5 mins of research it is not your plugin.

I don't know the facts but seemingly you have not only spammed the forums by placing a direct link to your WSO here (which has obviously worked for sales), but you also appear to be selling something that isn't yours.

And yes to top it off your sales copy isnt eye catching at all. In fact, I stopped reading after the first couple paragraphs.

    Regards,

    Just my two cents.

      Hi

You shouldn't be posting a link to his stolen WSO.

Your link clearly shows it is the WSO he is discussing as well as providing a download to an illegal copy at a file share site.

You should remove the link. Mods may kill your post.
