No you are actually looking for this:

WishList Member | Membership Site Software

BTW, a question like this one really belongs in one of the tech forums, not on the Main forum!

Yes I have used it before for a client - I'm a software developer and if I wanted a membership site of my own I have my own code which I'd use instead.

Wishlist is actually a pretty good product in that it installs pretty easily and has a fairly intuitive user interface.

It's not the only game in town however. There is a free WordPress membership plugin called "S2 Member", I have no experience with it but the price is right!

            WordPress › s2Member® ( Membership w/ PayPal® ) « WordPress Plugins

DAP (Digital Access Path) is also popular, although it has a very cumbersome user interface (probably because it was never meant for WordPress to begin with).

Another one is MemberWing, I have heard good things about it but have no personal experience with it.

              Thanks for the recommendation :-)

It's actually DigitalAccessPass. And to be quite honest, for every 1 person who says the interface is cumbersome, there are probably 3 others saying it's easy to use.

              So maybe it's a left-brain/right-brain thing :-).

Anyway... @WarriorVampire: The best way to find out for yourself, is to take us up on our 30-day, Unconditional, money-back guarantee.

No it's nothing to do with "left brain, right brain". My brain is doing fine thank you very much!

It has everything to do with not using the WordPress user table but instead making it's own user table, requiring duplicate accounts in each - hardly an efficient method. It causes strange effects, like having pages that those with WordPress administrator privilege can't see unless they login a second time.

It also uses an outdated system of limiting users access by IP address (which admittedly you can change). Perhaps the designers should be informed that this is the 21st century and one of the big differences between now and 1995 is that people are MOBILE with their Internet access. Until ewe changed this we were inundated with complaints about people not having access to their products - including our own employees!

And don't even get me started on the bizarre method used to assign permissions to a product to a user - you couldn't make a more cumbersome interface for that if you tried!

Again it's a result of the product never being built for WordPress but instead ported to the platform. That's why I prefer to write my own code, or at the very least use a product that was actually designed for WordPress.

Unfortunately we made the mistake (actually it was my partners mistake, I would have vetoed it) of using this on one of our main sites. I assure you we won't make that error again!

This was very informative, thank you. What do you think of Amember Pro? It has a nice user interface, but not sure of how it works behind the scenes....?

I use Amember Pro. Well, it is kind of expensive but it is worth the costs.

For a very simples site that requires easy membership, you can use "Absolute Privacy" wordpress plugin. Works great.

    Let me rewrite your question:
"How can I make a paid membership site using Wordpress".

Use this wording in your thread title and for Google search and you'll get
more accurate results with less time wasted.

    Thanks
