How I Make $500-$2500 a Day With Amazon (Triple Your Amazon Income)

Hey Warriors,

Here are some tricks and tips I use to increase your CTR and conversions with my Amazon money makers.

Yesterday's Earnings:

I wasn't sure if I wanted to post that because I usually like to keep a low profile - but hopefully it inspires people to don't give up!

I make a pretty decent living with Amazon as my main source of income.
I still don't plan on ever stopping! I love creating sites and writing quality reviews. It even gets better with progress and more money as the incentive.
My goals include increasing my income every month! I plan on doubling or even tripling my income on Amazon by the end of 2012.

Here's a neat trick I've been that doubled my income on Amazon
just within the past few months. I never really planned on sharing
this but I've learned so much from this Forum and met some great
people and partners here.

Just below, I'm going to give you banners
I've made that made my click rate and sales sky-rocket.

Original Banner:

Banner With Ribbon:

The Best 5 Tips I've Learned:

1. I hand write each review - no content taken verbatim
from Amazon except a couple of comments from their
consumer reviews.

2. When I mention the Amazon consumer reviews,
I suggest the visitor can "read more here:
(affiliate text link to Amazon review page)".

3. I started by writing reviews on the bestsellers
on Amazon for this group of products. There are
probably a couple of hundred different versions of
this product on Amazon.

4. Visited the manufacturers' sites for additional information.

5. Linked images, text links and Amazon reviewers
comments to Amazon. Included a "click here for the best price"
button in the post.

As some of you may know I've been partnering with
Warriors and our joint ventures have been extremely successful.
If there are any SEO/link builders.

Feel free to add me down below!

Kind Regards,
Kendra

    Thanks for the share!

How many sites are you running? How many reviews per site?

How to you drive customers? SEO mainly I guess?

    Cheers,

Right now we manage around 50 - 100 websites. 5-25 reviews per website. Yep, the traffic is 100% organic through search engines/keyword rankings. This allows our traffic and conversions to be very consistent.

        Hi Kendra

You say you manage sites what do you mean by that ? do you host sites for people I'm just not clear on you say you manage sites.

The info you provided is very applicable for a successful Amazon site.

In your headline you say you make $500-$2500 per day is that you personally or a total of the sites you manage.

Great post Kendra, hope you have time to answer a few questions.

            1) Where do you put your banners... on the homepage of your review site?... or elsewhere... They look like just a general banner, linking to amazon.

            2) Do you use much video on your site?

            3) Do you buy/use any of the products you review? If so, does this pay off?

I really like your business model, I'm in the same boat, my weakness is SEO... I've been thinking of JV's with SEO experts for a while now... I think this is the best way to go.

Don't wanna highjack your thread, but if there's any seo experts who want to team up with me, pm me... I can make pretty amazon sites that convert, but my seo sucks

I have just started doing that Dog (buying the actual product and doing an extensive personal review on the product.)

Its too early to tell but I know I give more credit to a site that clearly shows the reviewer has access or own the actual product.

Of course it will get expensive to buy products but I'm planning to buy at least 2 a month for this one site and build it up over time.

If I was in the US I would be a regular visitor to Circuit City or Best Buy Sears etc with my video camera in tow

i also think that your site will gain a lot of credit by buying and reviewing the sites yourself but like you said it can get expensive so what i would do is making a decent 1000 words review and if it starts earning me good money i will buy the product and review it even further this way i only pay the products from my earnings

I do a mix of both. I outsource seo and do it myself.

I've learned enough from doing it myself, that I don't like it... but understand enough, which is good.... especially when you're looking for an seo service.

Kendra's post has really opened my eyes though... I just posted in the JV forum

Rather than using different services, I'd rather have a partner who can handle the SEO.

I'm also curious about if your sites are mostly micro niches ranking for 1-5 long tail keywords, do you use Exact match domains, and do you ever use adsense for additional monetizing?

No Gaz, the sites are all split between different servers. All of the websites originally being personally mine. What I've done is host around 10-15 websites per server to avoid any suspicion or unwanted attention from Google. As my main source of traffic relies on Google, I find it best to be safe rather than sorry.

Having so many sites can be quite overwhelming so when I say "we manage" I rely on my other partners that help me rank keywords. These partners, get a cut of the websites they help me on. Maintaining the keyword rankings, ranking long tail keywords, scaling the keywords etc.. I personally work on the optimization, content, graphic design and product/keyword research.

I spend a lot of time using trial and error methods before I create a new website to ensure nothing but the highest conversion rates and most profitability. These methods I would like to keep to myself.

Initially I'll focus on long tail keywords, but my main focus is to rank competitive, profitable, high search volume keywords. EMD's are always good, but as many of you know, that always isn't an option. For your last question with Adsense, no. It's all 100% Amazon as I've had issues with Adsense in the past.. (numerous times) hehe.

      Regards,

Ok that makes sense and tell me about it I initially had well over 100 sites but have now scaled right down, simply because of the management of the sites, I now focus 5 long term authority sites but also work on quite a few sniper sites.

I no longer reveal any of my real money sites and I host each individual Authority site (except sniper) all on different servers since if someone finds just one of your niche sites they can easily find all your other sites on that server very very easily. In fact I dont think some of the other big Amazon Affiliate realize this, as I easily see all there best niche money sites.

Maybe you should think of writing a "how to" ebook and sell it. I'm sure many people would be interested. Good luck.

    Kendra you kick ass.

I'm busy with other projects now, but have about 10 Amazon review sites in the background generating a few hundred per month. (I agree with your notion that creating unique content is a key variable determining Amazon success.)

My biggest mistake was not targeting HIGHER priced items. (When my other projects are automated, I will focus upon higher ticket items.)

If I can sell 50 cheap items, I can sell 50 expensive ones! (Especially after targeting keywords.)

Good luck to you in the future miss.

Kendra, thank you so much for these tips! I want to do a set of Amazon affiliate sites, so I'm trying to take in all of the information I can get (and there is a LOT of it!) I really appreciate all of the great advice you gave in your post.

Could you help me to get a "big picture" understanding of what your sites consist of? Tell me if I'm looking at this the right way:

You go for a general product category keyword, like "stainless steel pressure cookers." Then, you put articles on your site consisting of reviews of specific models and sprinkle customer testimonials throughout the review. You then do about 10-20 reviews throughout the site.

      Am I understanding this right?

Do you title your posts after the product model name? Do you try to rank each post for a different keyword, or do you try to rank the whole site for a main keyword?

Thank you again for helping me to get a better understanding of the Amazon affiliate business model!

Thanks a lot for the vote of confidence, Kendra! I appreciate it.

I'm kind of in the spot of Jason Parker right now. The keyword research is what I really have to improve on. An insights you have to share on that I'm sure would be welcome.

At what spot on Google for your sites do you start to see consistent sales (i.e. position 5, 3, etc.)? Do you get good traffic even if you don't get the top spot, or are most of your sites on that top spot?

Once your sites are ranked, do you keep adding content to keep them there, or do you move on to more keywords?

How long does it take on avg. to get a site to where you want it to be on Google?

Thanks for the great advice you've giving thus far and for sharing your banners with us as well! This thread has already inspired several marketers to take another look at the Amazon affiliate business model.

Thank you for sharing Kendra, I am working on an Amazon review site but I am taking a different approach, I want an Authority website and target one profitable niche that has alot of future expansion opportunity.

I thought Amazon won't allow Affiliates to use their trademark or picture unless they provide it, you have some nice designs here but isn't that against their TOS? I would like to know because I would like to design such graphics.. I know alot of the posters will be like..why are u asking here.. just go and ask Amazon.. but I want to know if you have any information in regards to that!

From previous experience, I just find it better for SEO purposes in case Google flags a website or for whatever reason. You never know what big G will do these days.

Definitely agree with you Erica. Your posts in that thread have really touched up on my flaws and strengthened my ability to write quality reviews and increase my conversion rates.

Although the ideas posted by the OP are useful and workable, they are also almost identical to points made by Erica (Sojourn) in a lengthy thread that started about 18 mths ago. They are also similar to comments made by Paula C., so credit is also due to them.

I started as an Amazon affiliate several years ago and followed the IPK system, which involved a lot of micro sites pointing to an authority (mother) site. These eventually evolved along the lines of Erica's system as I found it was a lot easier to manage.

Quality reviews and backlinking are the key ingredients I've found to attract traffic and gain conversions.

Ivan - as you say, credit where credit is due. I'd just add that it's one thing to have very similar, almost identical ideas and another thing to state those ideas essentially word for word the way someone else did, without acknowledgement or credit. Just sayin'.....

    Kendra,

If you are going to share Sojourn's tips from this 2010 thread,

    http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ing-money.html

you ought to credit her instead of sharing them with no credit as if they were your own.

    Sojourn's tips below -
    1. I hand write each review - no content taken verbatim from Amazon except a couple of comments from their consumer reviews.
    2. When I mention the Amazon consumer reviews, I suggest the visitor can "read more here: (affiliate text link to Amazon review page)".
    3. I started by writing reviews on the bestsellers on Amazon for this group of products. There are probably a couple of hundred different versions of this product on Amazon.
    4. Unintentionally, I chose a niche for which the products' instruction manuals are readily available online. I started actually reading the manuals which allows the reviews to include more information than is found in the Amazon product listing or on any other site that is simply using the Amazon information. Things like included accessories, ways to use the product, information about how it compares to competitive products. This allows for more content in general and more long-tailed traffic.
    5. Visited the manufacturers' sites for additional information.
    6. Promoted the site with bookmarking, a handful of articles, a network of Squidoo lenses, and a Hubpage.
    7. Titled each post with "Full Product Name Review".
    8. Linked images, text links and Amazon reviewers comments to Amazon.
    9. Included a "check the price" button in the post.
    10. Used WP-Table Reloaded to build a Comparison page of all the products for which a review has been done that can be sorted by critical product features, ratings, and price and which can also be filtered by any data in the columns. The product name in the table links to my review page. The price data in the table links to Amazon.
    11. Created a standard format that I use for each review so they are uniform in case the visitor goes from one review to another. This way, all the same information is in the same order. (There's probably a faster way to do this but I just copied all the necessary HTML formatting for my post layout into a draft post. When I go to write a review, I copy the HTML from the draft into a new post and then I just have to paste in my review text, insert images, and links.)

Kendra - Gaz was referring earlier to having made the switch from having many sites to focusing on a smaller number of authority-style sites because of the time commitment necessary to manage a larger number. Not only is the workload different, but I have also found that sales and conversions are far better when focusing on a small number of large sites rather than focusing on a large number of small sites.

Your screenshots are only for 1 day so it's hard to draw too many conclusions from them, but I can see that the conversion rate is really low. My entire Amazon dashboard - which includes review sites, non-review sites, and hundreds of Squidoo lenses - has seen over a 9% conversion rate so far this month but if you pull out just my review sites, they've averaged a conversion rate of over 18% for the month. Your 1.85% conversion rate suggests that there is a lot of room for improvement.

Continuing to test your call to action, your site layout, and the match between the content on your site and the keywords bringing traffic should help. If you saw a more average conversion rate on that volume of traffic, the improvement in commissions would be huge!

Assuming these are Amazon.com reports, the commission dollar amount compared to the total revenue for the day suggests you must be doing some volume in electronics at the 4% commission rate. Otherwise, just that day's shipped volume would put you at 7% commission but this report shows only about 5.5% commission rate. It would be interesting to compare your conversion rate on electronics vs. non-electronics. Maybe one category is outperforming the other?

The commission dollars still look good, even split amongst a team perhaps, but I couldn't imagine handling that many sites! Must take so much time! My sites just take me and one VA who helps with backlinks and I still have time for other projects (thank goodness or I'd go crazy!).

Sojourn and Gaz makes excellent points. Not to take away from your accomplishment but your conversion rate at 1.85% is low for Amazon.

I understand you don't know how many sites you have but anywhere from 50-100 is a huge range. You may want to step back from building and get a handle on how many sites you have and how you can increase conversions at each instead of building more. Ultimately, this will save you time and money.

I would definitely start evaluating each site making sure you have a strong call to action, excellent reviews, make it clear to the consumer how to buy the item etc. One thing that is good to do, is include benefits in your call to action i.e. Click Here to Buy XXX with Free Shipping.

I have never found banners to convert very well, so it is interesting that they are working so well for you. Hope things continue to go well for you.

Wow, there is way too much information in this one thread. I am looking into creating an Amazon review site. I just wanted to start out with a couple related products to test the waters. Now I see that it takes a bit of work to get started. Not that I am afraid of work, because anything that is worth anything takes work. I just need a place to start.

Here is what I had planned.

Create 1 site and have a couple reviews for related products. (Not sure what products yet)
Build a few squidoo lenses for these products along with writing a few hubs on hubpages.com.

Right now I have worked on hubpages and have 42 hubs written but have never written an Amazon hub or review. Any suggestions on how to get information on a product without actually buying them?

Yes that is quite quite easy and is just a bit of research

1.) Head over to Youtube, search for the product and watch the reviews on there and take notes.
Normally you have some of the top review sites that have detailed video reviews of the product that you can get product information from.

2.) Head over to Amazon and read all the customer reviews on Amazon and make notes of the positives and negatives and any other pertinent information that customers are talking about.

3.) Head over to the Manufacturers website where you can get additional product information.

4.) Make the extra effort and head down to your local store with your camera and go and see the product first hand, be sure to take notes of the things you notice.

I have seen some Amazon Affiliates in front of store product displays for their specific niche and its oozes credibility for their review site.

5.) Just do a Google search for the product and you will find additional information on the product that you can use to build your review.

The absolute best review is going to be one from someone that owns, or has access to the product firsthand, but its not 100% necessary.

If you don't own the product then you need to ensure you spend enough time and really research the product, the better your research the better your review will be and the more sales you will make.

Always be on the look out for products to review, especially over the holidays where family and friends are receiving all sorts of expensive gifts and ask if you can review the item, you could have more work that you would like if you follow this over the next week

Remember give your visitors what they are looking for and you will get sales.

Sorry I'm going to be extremely busy today so I won't be able to follow this this thread. Essentially yes, in the original post I quote Erica Stone for the 5 tips I've learned. It clearly states in bold letters "The 5 Best Tips I've Learned". These tips from Erica (not me) are definitely crucial advice if you are building review sites.

Also the reason for my conversion rate to be so low yesterday was because I was clicking a lot of my own banners to make sure they were redirected to the proper pages. As I had to add, edit and change a lot of the banners over a hundred websites so that's why the CTR % was low.

I normally get a 6%-25% conversion rate on a daily basis. Nevertheless, the banners I provided in the original post will definitely increase your CTR. I have them on the headers and sometimes on the footers of my sites depending on the theme and overall appearance, I find them to work extremely well as the headers (obviously).

When you get a chance I'd like to know about what goes through your head with keyword research and domain buying. I already make a little money with Amazon and get between 5 and 11% conversion rates.

Writing the reviews is easy. Converting the traffic is easy. Building the back links is easy. But I always screw up the keyword research part. All of my traffic pretty much comes from Name of Peoduct + Review searches. So I'd like to k ow what you think about and how you approach ranking and keyword research.

        Thanks , you rock

        Now I'm really confused

You get between 6% and 25% conversion daily, what's the average?

Let's say you got the higher end of the 25% conversion because it's December. Are you saying it's because you clicked your own affiliate links that you brought your conversion rate down to 1.85%?

Looking at your screen shot, to make those 180 sales you converted 730 clicks to get 25% conversion. So you test clicked almost 10,000 of your affiliate links? That's a lot of clicking. Maybe I'm way off though, I'm terrible at maths

You said you have between 50 and 100 sites but now you say you have 100. How many sites do you have, around 50 or around 100?

You make between $500 and $2500 per day, what's the average?

        Lots of big gaps!

What makes her a good marketer?

She started a thread telling people she makes $2500 a day with high conversions on Amazon. But she provided a screen shot with a $500 day in the busiest month of the year for Amazon sales and with 1.85% conversion ( the lowest Amazon conversion I've ever seen ).

The opening points she is sharing have been copied word for word from another thread, from an established and successful Amazon marketer.

I didn't say she lied, I like many others just don't understand the numbers she is providing.

It's not the first time these kind of threads have lead to a WSO so it doesn't matter if there's no sig promotion at the moment.

I'm all for sharing information and inspiring others, but the information doesn't add up too me.

What Jason mentioned above is correct. I have no means or intentions of promoting anything. Not now, not in the nearby future. I'm already too busy to even think about creating a product or start a new project. I merely created this thread to help other Warriors struggling with making money with Amazon. I have absolutely no reason to lie nor is anything in this thread anything but the truth.

There is absolutely nothing in it for me. These are all great tips which I know are important when it comes to monetizing as well as generating traffic and increasing earnings.

Above all else, I've shared banners that personally helped me increase my CTR and conversion rate. If you don't like the thread leave, and stop starting unwanted drama and steering the thread out of direction.

I'm very busy today but if anyone has any questions related to Amazon feel free to ask and I'd be more than happy to answer them later on.

I love to hear success stories and people sharing their information. It's a great thing and what this forum is all about!

                But...

The thread was started with the claim of making $2500 a day with Amazon but provided us with a $500 screen shot.

The thread was started with the claim of helping "triple Amazon income" CTR and conversion but provided us with a 1.85% conversion screen shot.

Your "best 5 tips" have been copied word for word from a successful Amazon affiliate here on the Warrior forum. Instead of "The Best 5 Tips I've Learned" it would have been better to say "The Best 5 Tips I've Learned from xxxx"

This is what has "steerd the thread out of direction" and I'm sure the "drama" is unwanted by you, but can you understand why some people have a problem with the information you have provided?

There are other discrepancies that don't add up but I don't want to go on about it. If you are making $2500 a day and averaging 25% convestion it would have been better to provide information to support that instead of a $500 and 1.85% conversion screen shot.

                I'll leave it at that.

                Merry Christmas

      Kendra,
It is inspiring what you are doing. I would like to know the next steps to take with my site. I've had responses about making pages on my site with long tail keywords. I would like to know the steps to take with that.
I know you are very busy with as many websites as you have, but if you have a few minutes can you check out my site and tell what I need to do to get to the next step with seo and how to generate more traffic?

That would be great if you could make an e-book

      Thank you

You said in your thread title $500-$2500 a Day.

November and December should be the best months of the year for sales with Amazon so I was expecting to see your $2500 day in December.

I was just wondering if you could share how many $2500 days you've had through the year and in what months you were getting $2500 days?

      Kendra,
If you don't copy content verbatim from Amazon, why did you copy points from Erica's post verbatim?

What was your conversion rate before you added the banners and your CTR and conversion 'rocketed'? Just curious because 1.85% is probably one of the lowest conversion rates I've seen. In fact if you really were writing product reviews as you describe I'd be surprised to see such a low conversion rate, particularly in December.

A screenshot for just 1 day really doesn't prove much, particularly 1 day in December when conversion rates and earnings are alot higher than normal.

Maybe you could clarify for us? Some things about your post don't seem to quite add up and I'd be interested to learn more from you.

What I don't quite get is how the 1.85% can be the new triple 'rocketed' conversion. What must the conversion rate have been before the improvements and outside the boom of sales through the holiday season... 0.50%

Well so far it has became clear that the op has copied methods of someone else. Not sure why she posted it like she did, but here is what I am learning so far. This method must work because they are working for more than one person. I am going to be writing a product review site. Just need to figure out what market I want to jump into.

    Market Samurai here I come.

I did really poorly on Amazon this year. I am still getting my Amazon site together. That is my next year's goal. I WISH I would have spent time working on it this year when I could have. <sigh>.

I have a few blogs, that are NOT product blogs, that are NOT review sites really, and my conversion rate was 6.74% from Dec 1-Dec 21- I have a very low amount of orders this year (under 100). Like I said, I didn't focus on Amazon this year.

Who would have thought such hideous looking banners would convert so well. Now I know why Amazon's own professional, shiny looking banners convert so badly. *Note to self, stick a pixelated Bow, and low res text, on low converting banners for improved sales. Sorted!

This is a great thread because it's reminded me that producing good content is still a very profitable and reliable business plan. I had a fishing blog a while back and I wrote a ton of reviews on fishfinders and did quite well with it. That is until Blogger took it down. That's before I learned to NEVER use Blogger as a marketing blog. But, I just kind of gave up on it and didn't start my own blogs. This has encouraged me to start again!

I know u r very busy and i dont expect an immediate answer but you said you have up to about 25 reviews per site. Do you have any generic informative articles just for more added contet as well or strictly reviews?

Also, I am curious if you use Wordpress and if you do, how long you space out you r
Posts/reviews? Once a week? Every ten days? I would be curious to know ur thoughts and opinion on what works beat for SEO purposes
    Thanks in advance!

    For Kendra,

Where do you put the banners you provided? do you put it
    1. at the top of your posts?
    2. at the bottom of the posts?
    3. or at the header?

    Looking forward to your response

dang... Erica/Gaz, my overall CTR is just 2% or so.

My main photography site (though that's not a made-for-amazon site) hovers at 1%
My son's toy site hovers at 3%
While my Squidoo lenses (using Erica's SNB) hovers at 13%

Serious work needs to be done with my photo blog reviews.

I was under the impression that Google doesn't like it when there are an abundance of affiliate links in a page. On my new site I'm cloaking most of them but leaving the buy on amazon uncloaked. I write my own reviews and link pictures, read more reviews, an amazon button, and one contextual link in every review. Any advice here? I haven't promoted it yet and I only have 3 reviews finished so I can't tell you anything about visitor behavior yet.

As soon as I saw this thread, I just started laughing. It's also funny that this forum changes the other forum of similar topics, blue fart world in the link lol. I didn't know they hated each other. Just trying to help, I hate scammers and virus spreaders, also been happening a lot lately. At least he wasn't taking money this time. He is behind the iBacklinks site, and I don't recommend it. Pretty much gave what they said, but wayyyyy overpriced, considering he just turns around and outsources fiverr gigs. Fun rant, thanks for your time.

LOL @ this thread - When are people going to learn that posters using pics of a pretty young girl in their avatar are almost always a fake expert or some dude in his underwear gaming forums for their own gain. Great looking 19 year old girls ain't wasting their time discussing the finer points of affiliate marketing on forums. She certainly isn't the only guy on here pretending to be a good looking girl to build status and lord knows what else.
