    Yes, it works great.

Just provide good answers and then a relevant link.

You can use your webpages but I'd stay away from posting affiliate links on there

      Hi,

      A piece of advice:

"Be careful when using Yahoo Answers!"

      I received 2 violation emails and 1
      suspension notice yesterday, GEEZ!

I was using Yahoo Answers and getting a lot of traffic from there, then my account was suspended. No warning, no explanation. I've been meaning to read the T&C to figure out what I did wrong, and then rejoin, but haven't found the time yet.

I have had success posting relevant answers and a link to my landing page as the source. I have made clickbank sales solely off YA. The problem is that there are not as many questions posed in the particular niche as I would have ideally liked.

I had some success there awhile back, but then things got to the point where I was fighting getting warned and suspended, so I moved on.

I never understood why I had a problem. I always gave what I felt were good honest answers and never simply "spammed" my link, I just put it in the source box like I thought was allowed. Still was banned.

Have things gotten better or worse at Yahoo Answers of late? Traffic is good and the site ranks well in Google.

Shame to hear that. What peeved me off the most was that I felt I was really giving some decent answers and helping people - I stuck in my niche and never felt I went over the top - but I was banned. Then I would look around and see what looked like blatant spamvertising, and those posters seemed to have no problems posting their garbage.

Oh well....you'd think Yahoo would just love the free content. It's not like the links were dofollow....

Not worth the time. Most of the niches that I would promote are not there. Too many kids there asking questions.
Now if you could get someone to ask a question relevant to your niche...I'll write a ebook about that.

I've had a lot of luck. Great traffic and great conversions.

    1. I answer questions I consider myself to be expert in.
    2. I post a link to one of my own articles as my source.
    3. I offer a free initial consultation if they contact me through email, but I don't post my email they have to use the yahoo asnswers contact feature.
    4. I also ask and answer other questions that are unrelated to my services, no links.

Just make sure u don't "spam" it as yahoo have started to catch up on people answering questions with affiliate links and they will ban u if they don't like what u put up in your answers...

Oh sorry explained myself a little badly, basically what I meant by "spamming" is that you should not submit more than say 20 answers in a day with affiliate links.

I share the same frustration that my account got suspended today. I have not used Yahoo answer for quite a while and I always put my link in the resource box.

I have sent a rebuttal to them and they still decide my account should be suspended. I have received quite a few best answer vote but it is not helping.

Anyway, it is upsetting. Is Yahoo doing a massive overkill cleanup?

Yes - it does work. You need to be careful what you write and how you answer the questions.

You can read a bit more about it here.

I stick with one niche and give GREAT answers as much as possible. I don't give any link. What I've found is, if people think of you as an expert, they will get a hold of you. Once were talking privately, and I've built some trust, I'll recommend a product to them.

I don't spend tons of time on this but I do answer q's everyday.

      Good Luck,

In my experience, it works ok, but the work doesn't build any equity via backlinks or anchor text, so I'd rather spend my time doing article submissions and comments.
