Default Good Source of Paintings (for History of art idea..)

I'm interested in checking out some images of famous oldish paintings (pre1923) - ideally public domain, but I am happy to pay for them if the price is up to say, $10-20 each?

Anyone know of a good source of these sort of images, i've tried wikimedia, but I did a search of Anthony/Antony van Dyke as a test and didn't get any promising matches of his more famous works, and I want to do a quick-ish, not be hunting ages for images...

Thanks in advance, Warriors, for any advice.

Wikipedia has more images than wikimedia...for van dyke anyway...
