How to find Amazon products?

Hi Warrriors.

I am new to IM and is now learning how to look for which Amazon products to sell. I have a few questions to ask fellow warriors who have successfully sold Amazon products before.

1. Are there any specific products to avoid because they are just too competitive for a newbie?

2. Are there certain products which are more difficult to sell eg refrigerators, washing machines? These products are heavy and bulky, do people really buy them online?

3. Is it a good idea to avoid promoting products which are too cheap like below $50?

4. Should I avoid products which are very convenient for people to buy from their nearest shopping mall, like luggages, backpack?

5. What are the main reasons people buy amazon products because unlike clickbank where the digi products they are selling are only available at clickbank, most of the amazon products can be found at the shopping malls?

6. I am not from the U.S. but are Amazon selling their products at much cheaper prices compare to the same product, brand and model number at their local stores?

Quite a few questions there, any response will be appreciated. Thanks.

    1. Are there any specific products to avoid because they are just too competitive for a newbie?

You will get people saying stay away from electronics etc because they are too competitive but the reason they are competitive is because that is where the moneys at.

I would start with something less competitive at first, till you get the hang of things and learn the process.

    2. Are there certain products which are more difficult to sell eg refrigerators, washing machines? These products are heavy and bulky, do people really buy them online?

Absolutely they buy big items online, in fact people buy all sorts of things online, from the smallest of items, to massive items, like big screen tv's, washing machines, etc.

    3. Is it a good idea to avoid promoting products which are too cheap like below $50?

NO, you should have a mixture of items from cheaper items to items around the $200 mark and then have some nice high end items also.

By having some cheaper items you will bump up your commissions each month since you have to sell a certain number of items to increase your commission %

    4. Should I avoid products which are very convenient for people to buy from their nearest shopping mall, like luggages, backpack?

You can promote any products, that after your research shows that it is selling online, many Amazon affiliates sell every day items on their sites, if you look on Amazon you can actually do your day to day shopping on Amazon.

    5. What are the main reasons people buy amazon products because unlike clickbank where the digi products they are selling are only available at clickbank, most of the amazon products can be found at the shopping malls?

Amazon sold 32 BILLION dollars of product in 2010, that clearly shows people LOVE to shop online.
I really done care about the reasons, the fact is they are buying online and its growing more and more each year.

Don't worry about the why, just get your sites up and tap into this great way to make money online.

    6. I am not from the U.S. but are Amazon selling their products at much cheaper prices compare to the same product, brand and model number at their local stores?

Generally Amazon has very good prices and are very competitive when compared to local stores, plus they have the advantage of saving the customer sales tax for some states..

Just start work on getting your first site up, you will learn by doing.
Making money with Amazon is not rocket science anyone can do it, it just takes consistent effort and focus.

    Kickin it on Amazon

If you take the ? mark out of all those questions -- turn them into statements and you've got your own slant on Amazon affiliate sites that may work better for you than what others are teaching.

Regarding products that are big (washing machines etc) -- well Amazon have free shipping and it saves the buyer from lugging it home in their car! I bought mine online.

And as for convenient products... people are buying their groceries online and having them delivered and you don't get much more convenient than your local convenience store!

Amazon are seriously big, I was at the post office in late November to pick up a parcel and approximately 30% of all the parcels were from Amazon -- HUGE -- we're getting lazier and buying more and more online.

I don't think there are items you should necessarily avoid, but do your keyword research in conjunction with narrowing the bestsellers on Amazon and you should find some nice products to target.

I agree that many people prefer to buy big items on Amazon, especially since they have free shipping and an easy return policy, so don't worry about that. People will literally buy anything online. Amazon often has prices which are cheaper than the local mall, I always double check there before I spend money on something. As long as you focus on the items you are promoting, you should be able to make good money with Amazon.
