Any Vbulletin guru's out there?

Help.

I am trying to import an SMF forum into Vbulletin and having an issue. I got most of the import done so far, but having trouble with one section that deals with associating userid's.

If anyone can help I would appreciate it. I also have a thread on the vbulletin support forum, but I am impatient, as no one is replying.

Thanks in advance.

    Hey Keith,

I know a good bit about VB but have never made a conversion, so I can't help.

The best thing to do is keep patient. I know that's not what you want to hear right now, but VB's support is very good, and you will get first hand knowledge from other members on how to do what you want done.

If you can't get an answer right away on vbulletin.com, go over to vbulletin.org and check the forums there. I know most of the members respond very fst there and so does the staff!

Good luck with it, and I'm very glad to see you're making that move to VB. You'll find it was the best investment you've ever made after you fix that headache.

I too just did a import from snitz to vbulletin and the member ID's are not matching. It's like if member name is sleaklight and his member ID on snitz is 3452, in the imported result the member ID islike 4200. Way off, if you find a good answer to the problem, would you mind letting me know?
    Thanks,
    Oscar

    Hey Keith,

see if this thread here will help you.

SMF to vBulletin - vBulletin Community Forum

If it doesn't directly, it will indirectly by showing you where you can find the info and support you seek.

Btw, each user will have to reset their passwords from what I gather.

I think vB forum has a tool that is supposed to help you convert automatically. check their forum & support. it should be in you account's download area.

Yeah, vb.org should help as well.... just so you know Kieth, the user data isn't being shifted properly either... I tried to reset my password, but my email addy isn't associated with any accounts.

No biggie, you just may have a few peeps freaking out.
