Does PayPal allow this?

I have a merchant account that only allows me to manually process VISA and MasterCard purchases. But I have a customer who wants me to use her American Express card to charge orders when they come in (I dropship personalized children's clothing).

I remember reading a post once where someone said that they just use the "pay without an account" feature of PayPal and charge their customer's cards that way.

Does anyone do this? Is it against PayPal's terms?

I'm just trying to save the extra step of sending the customer a PayPal invoice and waiting for her to pay it before shipping the products.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks,
Jennifer

But what I'm wondering is if I can take her American Express, go to PayPal and put through the payment on her card.

So she doesn't have to do anything.

Does PayPal have a requirement that it has to come from the card holders IP?

    Thanks!

No - you aren't an authorized user of her card. SHE can use the "pay without an account" function in paypal .

      Does paypal not accept Amex?

Hi I have been using Paypal for some time. My website has a shopping cart and I send the cart info to Paypal when the customer checks out. Paypal takes over from there. Customer is able to pay via AmEx.

I recently signed up for Paypal's virtual terminal. When I go to enter the customer's card info, I can only select from Visa or Mastercard. SO it seems that when the customer is sent to Paypal to process the payment, AmEx is an option. But when the merchant processes the payment via virtual terminal, only Visa/Mastercard are the options.

    Take care

    Thanks everyone.

I think it sound like I better not do this. I'll have to invoice her with PayPal each time.

The problem is that I dropship products, so each time there is a charge for only $15 and she may have several of these each week. That's why I was hoping to avoid having to contact her every time and then wait until she pays via PayPal.

Maybe I can just invoice her weekly or even monthly instead. I'll figure out a way!

    Thanks again,
    Jennifer
