How Much Could I Sell This Website For?

Guys, how much could I sell this site for? - Jogging Benefits

It's getting 1500 uniques/month, and as you can see, the target visitors are primarily interested in benefits that jogging offers (read: weight loss)

It's not making any money yet but it's building a list with a rate of 100/month, right now it has around 200.

It's #1 for the keyword jogging benefits and #3 for the keyword benefits of jogging.

All the material is personally written and of good quality. All it needs is a touch of a "marketer" to turn it into a profitable site...

I was thinking of selling it on flippa but I don't really know what price to aim at. I'm really inexperienced at this, never sold a website before... any suggestions?

    Its normally only worth 10 - 12 months of its earnings...

    You will have to "sell" them the idea and the dream |:-)

      Spot on! But also remember that whatever people pay, is what it is worth... Think about it this way... You find someone who has a "running/jogging/marathon" ecommerce website. They might be willing to pay more because the leads are targeted and can bring them more sales.

      If that does happen, you might want to wet their whistle and offer to advertise their site and redirect some traffic... If their sales increase substantially, they might be willing to pay much more.

    try to make money via adsense, it'll be easier to sell with your adsense earning instead of your "list-building" benefit on this website..

    I think this website would sell for $200+

    It is hard to tell you how much it can sell for. It depends on how well you sell your websites potential in a Flippa listing.

    you need to find someone who it will benefit first...

    Or just build it up yourself to make money either by adsense amazon or ebay....
    Think of the long term benefits of the site....

    Dude, you can sell the site for whatever you want - as long someone is willing to pay it.

    That "10x monthly amount" technique is used... by... IM'ers and it's a stupid way to put things in a norm. Someone had that stupid idea and all the others follow it like sheep's.

    But since we're at it:

    Do you folks really believe (with all the fluctuations in SE's) a site can be measured by 10x his monthly income? Heck, if the site is not THAT good it can get dragged down tomorrow. Site can even be less then 6 months old and get a slap for "nothing". So many variables.

    Again: you can sell the site for whatever you want - as long someone is willing to pay it.

    For a IM'er an old site of mine was like 500$ (50$x10) BUT for a clinical company it was valued by the income they could get with 40 new customers a month (600$ per client at the very least).

    Do you honestly believe I sold it for 500$?

    Actually Fernando, the 10x earning valuation was NOT started by IM'rs.
    All those domain/website appraiser sites use that same formula and I heard about the 10x valuation LONG before I came into the IM field.

      Before those sites show up and become a useless trend, webmasters were already using THAT formula as a "norm" to sell websites. Webmasters created that norm cause they needed something to start from. And the 10x sounded good I guess.

      And in all honestly, who in their perfect mind uses a appraisal site that tells me a site is valued at a ignorant value (since it uses a script of domain age X Adwords keyword value X traffic)??

      Beats me.

      Another example. Site A gets 7000 unique visitors per month. Adwords is not relevant, like 0,05 per click. Any tool will tell us my site values 100$. But... those 7000 unique visitors per month convert at 4% in a 75$ product. Thats 2500$ per month.

      No tool know this. No tool can analyze it. No tool can understand the market flow: is it going better? Worst? Long term? Short term? List size? Etc etc etc.

      In the end that "10x norm" is only good for the guys buying sites.

    Hi,

    Try getting a 'general feel' for what this type of website is being sold for on Flippa. Its sometimes useful to look at the most active category to see what bidders are currently offering for sites. Also, it is at times useful to have 'reputation' on Flippa. The '10x' rule represents a weak tool when the seller has sold little on Flippa!
