market kitchen design experience online?

Hi and Merry Christmas to all. I've got years of kitchen design and remodeling experience. I enjoy writing about it. I'm trying to come up with ways to monetize a blog about kitchen design/ remodeling. It doesn't seem to lend itself to monetization as readily as some subjects. Any ideas would be appreciated and I'd gladly reciprocate by entertaining any kitchen remodeling questions.

Thanks

jomer2000, I think you need to think outside the refrigerator.

Seems to me you are a little bit stuck on just talking only about the remodeling side instead of how honestly great appliances, together with right cookware, dishes, table or island, chairs, kitchen clock that will go well with various arrangements, special faucets, kitchen gadgets, party accessories and all the "kitchen stuff" you could put pics and/or text links to Amazon on your blog. You have a lot of possibilities here. High end remodel, high end affiliate stuff, moderate price remodel, moderate price affiliate stuff for each article.

Invite your readers to bookmark your page so they can keep up with your newest articles, heck, even get a squeeze page so you can notify them you have new articles and pictures posted.

Personally, I don't think I would want Adsense on the blog because if you are looking for remodeling customers, you'd have competition from the advertisements. You want to be the go-to person. If you have a lot of pics of actual remodels in the past, you could bring out the newer affiliate products from Amazon and describe how much better they are and how much nicer that would work in the kitchen.

Lots of people do remodeling themselves and will be searching the net to get ideas. Product descriptions with your affiliate links sprinkled in all the right places could result in sales of products where you make a commission if not also remodeling, or perhaps even paid consulting work, as well. Don't limit what you, personally, are capable to accomplish.

In any event, you could start trying out various methods of product promotion, give it some time, and see what works for you. I assume you know how to seo, promote, backlink and otherwise market your niche.

This could also be great fodder for an ebook on Kindle to get your name out there.

It's easy to monetize any niche. The process is simple and works every time.

    1. Build a following
    2. Sell them something

    How to sell:

    1. Collect prospects email addresses
    2. Use aWeber to build trust over a long series of your best free stuff
    3. Sell your list something they think they want using aWeber/PayPal
    4. Don't sell on your site

    Proof:

This guy has thousands on his list and sells lots of stuff. Subscribe to his list and you'll see how he does it. There are zillions of guys making money this way. See his site here: Chicken Keeping Secrets - How To Keep Chickens At Home

If he can monetize the chicken keeping niche you can monetize your niche.

My experience is that people who read kitchen remodeling sites LOVE to click on ads, but they don't buy much. They are information-seekers rather than buyers. This makes sense when you think that most of the purchases for a kitchen remodeling project are big$: people spend a lot more time researching the purchase than they do actually buying, and most of them buy locally rather than online.

Thanks to all for your responses. AprilCT, lots to consider. A nice well rounded approach. I like it. You're right, the kitchen is the heart of the home. Lots of stuff there.

dsouravs, I had a site but took it down temporarily.

ramone_johnny, I have experience with the industry standard software (very expensive) but own a very inexpensive alternative that I like. A good option for homeowners.

Sitesmarty, thanks. I'm familiar w/ the chicken guy. You're right. Encouraging.

kevinw1, I believe it. I think I'll try the advice of the others and see if I can turn some of those clicks into purchases.

    Thanks again, everyone.
