I made $10 off of Sears 2 years ago from sponsored tweets. I never made a dime after that and the money is still in my sponsored tweets account. I believe the withdraw limit is $20.

follow whoever is the biggest person in your niche. And tweet your offers eventually they will come.

I think you can but it takes time.
You need a real following, and not just thousands of randoms that you can purchase from fiverr etc...
Once you have a large following, you can promote your services to them.
Just don't bombard them like 80% of others do there.

yes of course. if you have thousands follower you can offer gigs on fiverr to tweet about their product. i know some people using twitter for google adsense

But that doesn't make it (for most people) a very good way to try, in my opinion.

Bear in mind that far more people are unsuccessful, with internet marketing, than are successful (however you define those terms, and whoever's figures you believe, I think).

I think quite a valid and reasonable question to ask, in general, is something along the lines of "Is this what it was designed for?".

I offer a brief analogy (albeit not the specific thing you've asked about) which illustrates the point I'm making: look at what article directories exist for, and at how people use them. The successful article marketers are, broadly, the ones using them for the purpose for which they were designed. Those trying to use them in other, different ways (commonly for their own backlinks and/or their own traffic) are almost universally pretty unsuccessful with them. Probably you see the kind of reasoning I'm using, here?

So, the question, in the context of what you're asking about, is "Was Twitter designed for marketers to make money out of it?" I'm no Twitter expert at all, but I'd suggest the answer's probably "no"? So ... you can, clearly, and a few do, but it's perhaps going to be odds-against, in any individual case? Yes, you might be one of the few people who turns the odds on their head and finds a way to make a living from something at which so many have tried and then changed tack ... but maybe that's not the way to bet, on balance, and that's why it certainly wouldn't instinctively appeal to me. Just my perspective, of course.

If you have a high amount of followers on twitter and you keep posting your website links once or twice a day, chances are that they will retweet your links and you will get more visitors

I have been trying to earn some money on twitter as well... I think you can go for one of two approches

1. Sponsored tweets, or
2. Links to affiliate sites

It depends on what your twitter account is about...

I would probably go for promoting an affiliate product if you find one that is closely related to your twitter market...

Earning money through Twitter is not near as easy as a lot of people believe. The most important thing is to get targeted followers. Also, very importantly, you should first work on building a relationship with each of your followers before you go about posting even a single affiliate link on your website. You want to seem as genuine as possible on your Twitter account.

Once you have the love and support of people who are interested in your niche, you can post a link or two and you are likely to get a decent response. That is the best way to earn money on Twitter, though it is definitely not easy!

I've started seeing my first few bucks from CPA on twitter.

As stated before, you must have highly targeted followers and add lots of value before mixing in a small number of promotional tweets.

I've been doing this with 2000 followers which I built up slowly over time.

My next test will be to see if I can use some form of content curation to drive traffic to a blog and then maybe try selling some sponsored tweets.

Twitter marketing is like listbuilding and selling to your list.

I hate the spam that comes through everyday. That is not the right way to do it.

I do however like the marketers that give away cool FREE stuff, and then sell something every so often. They actually treat twitter like an email marketing business. And that is why they clean up with it.

It is artform some say, however, there are many ways to use twitter to make money. It is powerful tool in the right hands, but 90% of people are doing it wrong and just think spamming will make them monster amounts of money, only to fail miserably a week or so later.

Treat it like an email marketing business, give quality and sell stuff every so often, that works for us.

I tweeted yesterday about the "natural flow of events" and this morning was flooded with followers selling 'natural fitness', 'natural weight loss', 'natural foods', 'natural health', 'natural wealth', and more, because of software targeting the keyword 'natural'.

Annoyingly, they waste my time as I examine new followers to see whether I want to follow back. These days, I'm careful not to use obvious keywords in my tweets, such as 'dating' and 'weight loss'. Some will follow my account without even bothering to post any tweets! These get blocked or reported for spam.

Happily, as I don't automatically follow back, a lot of unwanted followers will automatically unfollow me over the next few days.

However, those who do automatically follow back, and those who are simply happy to have someone follow them, will inflate the lists of those using software because many will have little or no interest in the products being promoted.

I have been "attempting" to make money on twitter but haven't been to successful. I have made money using mylike but nothing to real boast about! I agree though it is just another source of traffic for my blogs and websites.
