What IM tools/courses/gurus *actually* make you money?

Hey there,

2011 is nearly over and it's time to reflect what worked and what didn't work, so you can come up with a plan that works (or works even better) in 2012.

So my question to you is this:

of all the information out there, all the courses, all the tools, all the gurus, what *ACTUALLY* made you money? What actually really worked in the sense of giving you real websites, real SEO benefits.

Not based on 'hey, they've got this cool screenshot of how they make a gazillion bucks in 3 days so it *should* work', but REAL, measurable, YOU have had a positive experience with it?

I kinda want to put together some "*REAL* Internet Marketing 2011 Awards" and at the end I'll compile all the results into one nice resource guide (free to everyone), so whenever you've got a question like "what's a *really* good on-page SEO tool?" or "what's a really good Adsense course", or ..., you should be able to find what's working for plenty others in the guide (plus you won't have to wade through bazillions of pages with fake affiliate-reviews...)

Cheers

Veit

I really liked Aidan Booth's "Rank and Pillage" and highly recommend it for any complete newbies out there. I made my first money online by following the course. Aidan has a new course coming out late Feb - check my signature:p

quick note, forgot to say this above:

if you can please use the exact name of the product/course/service, that helps put it all together in a meaningful manner.

So, in this case it would (I'm guessing here) be "xfactor - authority adsense guide"

      Cheers

The Adsense 100K blueprint helped me get started with a basic understanding of adsense.

Scrapebox is far and away the most valuable tool I own.

Semrush is incredible if you have any ability to analyze huge amounts of data.

I made more money selling services on this forum than anything else though.

If you simply track what the 'gurus' do you, you can learn for free!

That's what I did during the past year or so; I made sure to stay on several mailing lists and created inbox folders so every time I received an email, it was sent directly to said folder.

Voila...instant total autoresponder series swipe files!

I can honestly say that by watching several key folk...I learned how to do a majority of my business today.

Plus, I also joined Tristan Bull's coaching thingee and gained some great insights from that.

There are people you can learn from, and systems / software that might help you, but only YOU will make you money.

Until you decide to take the responsibility on your shoulders to make it in business, you won't make much if any money.

I never really purchased any guides or tools from "Guru's" since most of them are just hype. Instead, when I started out years back I learned most everything from forums. (You can find a lot of great information here & elsewhere by sorting threads by rating, views, etc.)

The tool that I've benefited the most from is definitely Scrapebox. Not just as a commenting tool, though. It has automated a TON of tasks that I used to do manually.

Considering plenty of courses (gurus' or not) can make you money, I think the real question is...

"Which one motivated you to action?"

The same here. The only tools that making me money in IM are my brain and my scripts (software).

ok, let's not let this too off-topic: I totally agree that motivation is important, etc, the main point of this exercise is to find out what tools/courses/systems actually worked, so we can all benefit from it. (and no, CyberSEO's brain isn't a resource we can all share;-)

one I've heard a few times now is scrapebox, which is great to hear.

personally I'm adding Matt LaClear's drip-feeding service to the mix (took a long time, but got me awesome results) ...

So, what specific resources actually work for you? (have a look at the list on the blog, there are tons of categories)

    Cheers

everyone's needs are so different. I have made my living online for over a decade and a half, and to the best of my knowledge, I have never had a site in the top 20 of Google.

For that reason, I find things such as SEO tools/advice totally useless. Of course I do realize people build their entire business around such models, but the tools they find useful, I would find a total waste of money.

So what type of business model are you actually focusing on? Once we know that maybe a few people will have some suggestions that may actually have some benefit.

Until we know that, you are just taking suggestions from people who are likely not evening using the same business model as you.

EDIT: Now you mention "have a look at the blog". I am guessing you are meaning the one is your sig with a topic heavily related to this forum topic. Now this is starting to seem an awful lot like self promotion.

        David,

the business model is besides the point.
If you're into Adsense, then what Adsense course actually made the difference for you?

If you're using an SEO service, which one made a difference?

If you're a total newbie, where did you learn the basics (e.g. quite a few people have said that Chris Farrell's membership site is great, because he really explains everything step-by-step)

        etc.

        regarding "self-promotion":

that link is EXACTLY the spreadsheet I'm referring to! It's not meant to be 'hidden' or 'sneaky' - I just don't know how to embed a Google docs spreadsheet in here, if I could, I would.

There's no signup, no offer, nothing on that page. All you're doing is putting in your 'real world' experiences into the spreadsheet (which is then a whole lot easier to sort than going through the responses here)
