Hey,

I just came across this and i know that 90% of the people on this forum have there own websites so i thought this might interest you.

I think that the best 404 pages are those that match the design of the rest of the website. I always create my own 404 using the same CSS as I used for the whole website, navigation menu included.

My favorite is Huwshimi

This is my all time favorite 404 page, I wish I had the skills to make something like this.

  That's an incredibly nice 404 page, I can see people glued to it for ages, waiting for one of the cast of Lost to get off the train, maybe they weren't on the island afterall, they were actually trapped in a 404 error page in another dimension, there's one for the writer's.
  
  But seriously, what really is the purpose of the 404 page?, isn't it better off filled with what the person is looking for or filling it with relevant information?, there was some effort exerted to get them to that point why waste it?

  Yup, that's a beauty stylistically, but maybe not too practical because it seems too subtle. But I sure would like to know how to do this!

Some pretty good ideas there. I especially liked the New Yorker,
but the detchup bottle empty was pretty good too.

The 4500% system that we use for sites has a cool 404 search module. It automatically uses the site theme, and it displays a search of the site based on the URL.

This is great because it can get them where they wanted to go or possibly to a related page. Much better than a deadend!

  I'd like to see some of those pictures implemented, it would be fun to actually see a page like that when you get a 404 error.

I use the standard hostgator 404 but changed the adsense ID to mine and the link to the 1cent website to mine and it works a treat for me in Affiliate income and adsense.
