You first need to know which area of internet markting you would like to work with.

Affiliate marketing?
CPA marketing?
Flipping sites?
Article marketing?
Selling your service?
etc.

Once you choose an money making method (which you can find on this forum, for example in the WSO area of this forum) you can then work that method and stick to it.

Have you researched search engine optimization, pay per click or anything along those lines yet?

The best way to start in internet marketing is to learn from someone who's done it
already.

If you don't know anything and doesn't have special skills, then invest in a video course.
There's a lot online. Learn how to setup the basics (buying domains, hosting, putting up your first webpage, etc.)

Or you can also work as a Virtual Assistant for cheap to get an actual hands on.
Some employers will even teach you themselves.

The second one is better because you'll learn and get paid in the process. However
you'll have to work your butt off. That's how it is when you are working online.

I think, the best way of starting the internet marketing is the forum posting. It is very good activity as it is useful and full of information.

I agree with Steve. It is best to find something you like. Either a group of people you want to help or something associated with a passion, hobby or skill.

What are you good at? What are your hobbies? What are you passionate about?

There are tons of way to do internet marketing, like our kind folks said here you can choose one that you think you can be doing well the most and stick with it. You can read around and see what people do themselves. If you don't have any money for investment you can also give service and save up money for your future domains/hosting which you might need.

1. Spend a whole month reading, reading and reading some more.
2. Choose a method that appeals to you.
3. Get started with that method and as you progress you will learn a ton of things that are usually not explained fully in any thread.
4. After another month you will have the experience to ask the RIGHT questions to get your method working. At first it is a slow process but you must remember the golden rule -- Dont give up and stick with 1 method.

You should probably read a lot, if you want to work from home then you have a spare time. read a lot of threads, use the search option for finding the exact relevant inquires that you are looking to gain answers from.
What else? find a niche, have some solid knowledge in SEO, consult with people, open a free wp site, upload quality content and slowly move your way into this world, In any case best of luck!

start a small ecommerce site selling something you enjoy. start doing some seo and marketing and see how you do. i find the best way to learn is practice

If you have the skills like writing articles, web design, programming, etc. You don't need a book to start working at home. Start earning from being a freelancer.

* Don't quit your day job! It takes most people a while to achieve positive cash flow.
* As suggested above - pick a product or niche and get started now.. learn by doing. * Take your best shot but expect to fail once or twice.
* Internet Marketing is a business... Get organized and focus on learning the process
* Your time is valuable. Keep your focus and efforts on your current project.

after a few days out, now im back to work.
i have a problem to start this new work. the problem is that im portuguese and if i want to start this new life i think is better start in portuguese, because the english is not the best.
-the problem is: Is possible to actracct portuguese or brasilian customers to my business?
-portuguese language will be a good market?
- i dont find any forum in portuguese to help me.

i think if i start a business in english will be a problem because i can make some mistakes in the language, so it can be waste of time.

there isn't one be all - end all book on internet marketing because
internet marketing is always changing.

if you are looking to get started in the IM industry then i would recommend
you go with affiliate marketing.

i believe affiliate marketing is the easiest way to get started if you are a
newbie. You don't have to worry about product creation, customer service, shipping any products. Only thing you really have to worry about is sending targeted traffic to the affiliate offer.

If you want to go that direction then Ewen Chia, Rosalind Gardner,
Jeff Johnson are all super affiliate marketers you will learn alot from.

Whatever you do just pick one thing and stick with it. Don't sway away from it until you see some sort of results.

start blog posting and forum posting, you can start promoting your own products or services so that you have some experience with it.

I would suggest you choose on what's best you like and basing on your skills, sharpen it more online. Read and research more about internet marketing. It will always be best to invest more in your knowledge and most of all be patient.

Read other Forums and communicate with other warriors is the way to go

Do something that you love doing, then write a short report on tips and things, find forums in that niche, start posting for a while to build up trust, then add the report to you signature file.Your tips may be useful to other people, good content always wins.

Just an idea, hope it helps

Start with a piece of paper and a pen or open up a word document and type:
1)why you want to start in Internet Marketing.
2)How much you want to make on a monthly basis.
3)How much time you are willing to put in a week to achieve that goal.
4)How much money you are willing to invest in yourself (education/courses/memberships/coaching/wso's/webinars)
5)Start looking at different ways others have made money online.
6)Look at their start up costs and compare yourself to that to get a general view of what it takes.
7) Make a commitment to yourself to try this whole heartily not half assed
8) Print the above 8 steps out and make a 60 day plan for you to follow.
9) post it somewhere where you can see it on a daily basis, (constant reminder)
10) follow through.

Once you have done this, you should automate as much of this process as possible. Automate and outsource once you understand the concepts and principals well enough to show others how to do it step by step. This will allow you to remove yourself from the equation. freeing up some of your time to do x y or z. Then rinse and repeat.
