How good is .INFO Domain?

There are too many domain extensions out there, more than anyone will care to count.

I know that .COM, .ORG, AND .NET are equally important, and perhaps so is .CO

But does anyone have any experience with .INFO? How good it is? Is it good for SEO, or because it comes cheap, search engines, particularly Google, doesn't respect it?

Will appreciate everyone's view on this.

Thanks

All domain names are the same. You can rank a .info the same you rank .com. It's no difference.

This will be a long debate again with different opinions. But I tell you from my own experience , and also if you listen to Matt from Google he's saying the same thing. All domain names are equal in terms of SEO.

    According to my own scale:

    10 points - .gov, .edu
    ...
    1 point - .info
    0 points - .cc

For me, a .COM is number one.

I was watching - Social Network - a few days ago, and there was something that someone said. It was JT, buthe was the guy who invented Napster.

It was something about how great it is to own a big .COM. Just being able to say the word DOT COM to someone when they ask what you do, LOL. I run a DOT COM. :p

So yeah, I say .COM is better than a .INFO.

But after that, I'd say .INFO is the next best thing.

That's just what I think from using the internet. I also think .ME would be good for a more personal blog.

I wouldn't use a .CO, especially not to start up a business.

I suppose .NET and .ORG are OK.

I'd only brand a .COM though.

BTW, those aren't my views based on SEO.

      Just my views.

It can be done. Google lorem ipsum.

Will it be more difficult? I don't know, maybe. Google uses clickstream data in its algorithm to determine what sites will get ranked higher, and .info domains tend to get fewer clicks. How much this affects the ranking potential of a .info domain isn't clear, according to my bit of research.

My personal experience? I've ranked a few moderately competitive keywords on the top 5 results of Google with an .info domain, and I put very little linkbuilding work into it.
