Do You Think That ClickBank's CDR is Fair To Newbies.

For those that don't know, CDR is ClickBank's Customer Customer Distribution Requirement Policy. This is what it says:

ClickBank will withhold payment of any account balance until the following criteria is met:

Sales made with 5 or more different credit card numbers; and,
Sales made with two different payment methods (either Visa, MasterCard, PayPal or European Direct Debit(ELV)). Note: PayPal purchases do not count toward the minimum 5 different credit card numbers.
This requirement is in place to help prevent Affiliates from abusing the ClickBank Affiliate program by using their accounts for the sole purpose of fraudulently collecting rebates and/or discounts on their own purchases.

Once you have met the Customer Distribution Requirement, your account will begin issuing payments normally, in accordance with our Accounting Policy, beginning on the next payment issuing date.

I can see the reasoning behind this policy but it can be kind of hard for someone that is new to IM to meet this criteria right off the bat. Not to mention if you get your first sale and don't know about this policy, it can be a real let down when you expect a check in the mail that is never coming. I feel that it could be revised and relaxed a little. What do you think?

I disagree actually. The rules that they have in place are there for a reason, a very good reason in fact. When signing up for Clickbank, one should read all of the TOS. If you do that, then there will be no surprises.

The rules regarding this are as airtight as possible because if they were to relax things (even a little bit) all of the Bluefart losers online would find a way to exploit it.

Nothing is fair. Things are just what they are.

  • Clickbank is a God sent for newbies as it simplifies payment processing and affiliate managing significantly into a single platform. Sure, they have their basic requirements, but all in all it's a SUPER newbie-friendly network.

This minimum payment requirement must be a "nice little earner". Additionally if there are "x" weeks of account inactivity the balance will be raided and can finally diminish to zero. Most banks pay interest on money if you leave it with them...with Clickbank the opposite is true.

I wonder how many newbie affiliates fail to meet the payment requirements within the required time frame and subsequently lose the money for the sale(s) they have made. Probably quite a few.

"Nice little earner" as I say.
