I think I have got myself into a bind. I have been buying WSO and subscribing to many lists and now my email is over flowing. I now have over 125K of unread emails. Is there any way to manage this or do I have to simply start over and get a new email address. I am missing important messages because I am on so many lists. Anyone know any solutions to this. I am using yahoo mail and they changed their program and it makes it very difficut to manage it any more.

Thanks.

I let all the emails from Warriors go to a special folder.

I go through that folder on a regular basis and see see who stands out. If one particular marketer stands out (delivers something that I need or like more often than not) I create a separate folder for that marketer.

    Unsubscribe from the lists.

The links to do so should be at the bottom of each email.

I suppose the easiest option is to dump your email addy and open up a new account. If that isn't practical, you're going to have to start unsubscribing from your lists. Or, if Yahoo provides filtering, start building filters to dump off the stuff you don't want. If it doesn't, direct your yahoo email address to a program that does, like Thunderbird.

You might find that a lot of the email in your backlog has a common word or phrase, like "WSO". So you can easily create a filter that sends all that stuff to the garbage. Then with a clean sheet, start to manage it better by using filters to populate folders....like a file indexing system.

Just unsub from the lists you don't want to be on.

OR you can create filters and forward certain emails to a new account if you wanted to start a new email without re-opting in to the lists you like!

Hey, unsubscribe to all that list. Or you will experience this, they promise you that you don't need any WSO to buy and after 1 day, they promote another one. What the heck? Hahaha. It's just make me laugh. If they really earning 1k to 2k a day as what they're bragging in their WSO then why should they share their secrets? Charity? LOL.

Filters are your friends. As are unsubscribe links. Between the two of them, you can either eliminate or relocate the 'noise' so that the email you need doesn't get buried.

You could create folders - one for each WSO or list you opted into.

    Then to create a filter:

Click on "Options" at the top left hand side of the page - three links over from
    | Hi, Giveandberich | Sign Out | Options |

    Select Mail Options

On the left hand side of the screen, select "Filters"
Then click +Add to create your filter.

If you get emails from "buythisnow" type that in the filter name.
Type "buythisnow" in the sender box below the filter name.

Then deliver to the folder of "buythisnow"

With 125K emails, it is time to bolt. How can you make any sense of that? And, then get new emails like Lori suggests.

Unsubscribe from the ones that aren't providing real value. You can run filters as others have said to skip your inbox and go directly to a folder so you can view them later.

If the problem is that you are getting a lot of spam you didn't subscribe to, you can use a service like Spam Arrest.

Exactly what I would have said. I usually setup the filters to skip the inbox and if I don't see myself searching for any of the posts within a few weeks, I unsubscribe completely.

I was looking over the replies and there is a lot of sense to these comments. To me, you do have options. I do think dumping the email might be extreme since you only have 125 emails and not thousands like I did at one point from mistakingly getting myself on a directory of safelists (now that is a nightmare) where I was getting a new message every second. Could you imagine that?

Sounds like you have some options, you can take a few minutes to create a filter as was suggested and send all your WSO emails to a folder. As for all the other emails you can just bulk delete those for now just to clear out your email and add your filters.

Alternatively you can just go through and start to unsubscribe from them. For me, I really like my email so every month I go through and start unsubscribing from everything that I find myself deleting without opening anyway. This keeps my box manageable and since I only spend one day a month doing it I don't feel like I am wasting too much of my time. I give the list owner a chance to prove himself before removing myself, unless of course I was added without permission which is annoying.

You got some great advice from the other members. Wish you will with your decision.

Your advice sounds great . . . for someone with only 125 emails. It sounded to me like he said 125,000 emails, as in 125 k emails!

This is a great thread that will probably help a lot of people, not just the original poster. And especially if those emails are all going to a Paypal payment email address . . . !

When you get as high as 125K, there's no way you're ever going through them all. You're better off spending time on your business.

I say delete them all and start from scratch. The, as emails come in every day take note of ones that don't add value or you never looked at in the past. Unsubscribe.

Gradually, if you keep at it every day, you should get down to just the email subscriptions that you get value from.

Filters are great too, once you figure out what you want to filter.

The best way to handle it is not mix your business with your personal emails. You can set up an email account where nothing but business stuff goes to it. I know a lot of people like myself will sign up to people's list just to keep track of what they are doing or analyze how they are marketing to their prospects. Needless to say that you don't want this mixed all in with your personal email.

Also, with this additional account just for business or for monitoring how others are marketing, you can check it whenever you feel like it instead of being hit with a ton of emails my marketers every day.

It does seem to help to have one email account for business purposes. Since you have so many emails, sounds like it's time to start over anyway. Maybe go through the latest to see if there are any you like and you can always subscribe to those with your new email. But be careful! It doesn't take long to get right back where you've got way to many emails coming in to keep up with them all!
