WARNING: Beware of extremely realistic Paypall email scam!

Yes, the typo in the title is intentional to make you aware what to look for: the email comes from service@paypall.com
Notice the double L in paypall!

What makes it really scary: it came to my real paypal email address and they included my full name!

It looks extremely real... except that gmail put it in the Spam folder

Here is how it looks like:

Subject line: Notification of Limited Account Access RXI-6166

Body: Hello Istvan Horvath,

As part of our security measures, we regularly screen activity in the PayPal
system. We recently contacted you after noticing an issue on your account.

We requested information from you for the following reason:

A recent review of your account determined that we require some additional
information from you in order to provide you with secure service.

Case ID Number: PP-648-716-821

This is a second reminder to log in to PayPal as soon as possible. Once you log
in, you will be provided with steps to restore your account access.

Be sure to log in securely by using the following link:

Once you log in, you will be provided with steps to restore your
account access. We appreciate your understanding as we work to ensure account

If in doubt... in another window/tab go directly to your Paypal account, login and see if there is any issue. Most likely, there isn't.

I have also been constatntly receiving this type of mail & as you had said the same thing was with me. The mail id has double ll & also it landed in my mail junk folder.

I login directly to the account & check that every thing was fine.

Alternatively I reported the matter to the Paypal also.

People should be aware of these things. Good Sharing.

I get these every now and then... Usually you can tell immediately it is bogus. The last one I got is like the OP said, VERY realistic... it made my stomach get a knot reading it, then realized it was a scammer.

Think twice if its in the spam folder - something must be fishy

Here is a quick tip if you have Gmail, look for the reply tab there you find a drop down section , then just to the "Report Phishing Email" and click the link . It will go the Security section of Gmail and they will look into it.

  The number one rule I follow is to always go directly to the website and log in. I NEVER click a link in an email. Any notifications that you may have will always show when you log into your account by going directly to the website.

Thanks Istvan for bringing this up...

I also had this exact same email address delivered to my email account. Again it was placed into the junk folder. I did notice the 'paypall' and thought it strange, so I deleted it and also addedd the address to my block list.

My advice is, If you are ever in doubt then do not panic, contact paypal directly via their website or telephone for reassurance. DO NOT click the links, there is no need to!

If I am not sure whether it is from PayPal or is a phishing attempt, I send it to PayPal security at spoof@paypal.com. PayPal will tell you what it is.

One thing to remember Is just to never click on a link In an email to log in to PayPal. I always type paypal into the address bar to go to PayPals website, just to be on the safe side.

It's clear spam and not something new... just that email address looks "good" if you don't concentrate on it... I mean, people could easily miss it, especially if they are in hurry... thanks for heads up!
