Hi Guys,

When someone copies your content albeit not exactly, is there a way to report them to Google?

Looking at the website in question, most of the content has been copied and reworded from my site and a number of other websites.

Anyway, not much I can do but it is f^&#ing annoying when it has took me so long to gather this information. I would love to see this site go down the in the results!

Ok rant over.

The easiest way to get the content removed is to send a DMCA takedown notice to the website's host. This link will show you how to quickly find their host and format the email:

      Hi Brian,

The content has been spun quite well so it is not a direct copying of the content. They copied and spun from many websites not only mine.

So, pretty sure can not do nothing. I would like to get them banned by Google which would be good, if you know a way?

      Hi Brian,

      Thanks for the info.

I have sent an email to them first kindly asking them to remove the content. Hopefuly, that might do the trick. If not, I will consider whether it is worth taking it further.

Thanks for the advice and the links.

      Phil

Here is the link for reporting content to Google that you believe should be removed:
    Google Help

However, if you feel strongly that your content is being spun into an unauthorized derivative of your work, you may want to have a lawyer write a letter to Google for you.

To the OP. Sorry to hear that. I hope things work out for you.

Take comfort in the fact that ultimately, after their operation fails, they will be kicking themselves for wasting all of that time.

On a side note, if they used software to synonymize your content, then the answer is YES, Google can detect that (quite easily I might add) and does make a note of it.

I am sure you feel ripped off!

Two things to prevent content theft:
1.) Copywrite your content. Unfortunately, you will need a lawyer too.
2.) Get a good DMCA Takedown service to contact the webmaster/owner of that site on your behalf and get results.

      1. You do not need a lawyer to copyright your work. In the USA, your work is copyrighted on creation.

      2. You do not need to hire a service to serve DMCA take down notices. I gave a link above to directions that work more often than not.

My point is to copyright your content. You will need a lawyer, not to set up the copyright, but to pursue the copyright infringement.

Yes, you can do the DMCA takedown notice yourself, but if time is money and your content has leaked to dozens of fileshare, forums, and other site, you can pay for the DMCA takedown service and have them do the grunt work.

        Hope this makes more sense.

        Peace

Use this tool to have it removed from Search results.
    https://www.google.com/webmasters/to...ce?pli=1&hl=en

Use this tool if the site uses Adsense.
    https://support.google.com/adsense/b...complaint&rd=1

Both work very well, and google usually takes action within 4 to 72 hours. The Adsense one always gets the infringer's attention.

Edit: If the content was re-written or re-worded or spun, be sure to say that in the complaint. Otherwise simply listing the urls of the copy and original is sufficient.

Nothing to worried about copy content because you are writing fresh content and when you add content on your blog Google crawl your blog first that means the content is yours. You need to take care only one thing that is whenever you add content Google will crawl your blog first with new content and for that you need to submit link on some good social networking websites.

If somebody add totally coped content then Google will penalize their website after sometime.

For more safety send one mail to Google regarding this issue.
