There really is no right or wrong answer to this one. Everyone I ask says something different, so I figured it was time to open to debate to the Warrors....

Would you display your price on the homepage, for people to see at the first juncture...

-Or-

Would you display it inside another page, to make people look for it?

I've had success with both models, and currently display my price on my homepage. However, that little devil on my shoulder is telling me I may want to instead put it on the 'How it Works' or 'Features & Benefits' page instead.

Can someone sway me either way?

i've just taken out the price and sign-up form from my homepage (sales letter) and put it on a separate page where there is a comparison table and different options to buy. it makes it easier for me to measure how many people click through to the buying page and then leave without buying. whereas having the buying info and order form on the home page makes it hard to know why people left the site - it could be because of the price or something else.

i guess it depends on the market/niche...it works well on retail websites to have the price shown everywhere but not so much in other niches.

It really depends on the type of site too... and I would agree with Suraj on this one... in most cases I do have price on homepage of my websites, but definitely not on top (unless it's free offer )

    Hi Jim,

The first lesson I ever had in marketing was.....'none of us know nothing'

Just set up a split test with Google analytics.

Keep track of sales and sign ups and you will have the definitive answer for your website/page/product/market.

I punch myself in the face on a regular basis ....every time I remember that there is a part of my business not being split tested at the moment. Plain stupidity on my part...how else am I going to find out what works?....by asking for someone elses opinion on here? I don't think so....

    Good Luck

I'd put it to an easy to find page with a ton of testimonials and positive description. That should boost up your conversions.

If your price is better then your competitors you need to tell people and show it on the index page.

If not, hide it and first try to get people to be really interested through the salespage before telling the price.
