Paid Press Releases..??

I have a list of free press release distribution sites on my website. That's one way to go.

My clients tell me that PRWeb::The Online Visibility Company sends them the most traffic - cheapest package is $80. I've had decent luck with WebWire - Press Release Distribution Services | Est. 1995 as well - $19.95. And the Rhodes brothers swear by Webwire.

Hey Andrew,

Yeah, I've seen Press Releases bring in a lot of traffic. Sometimes people also get very lucky when news medias and magazines pick the PR up too. It's like an added bonus.

This is why it's so important to make the PRs asews worthy as possible. When people simply give generalities and don't put up a good story, they can fail miserably too.

Hey Dana,

Yeah they are really good, but they've quadrupled their prices in the past year. Lol I remember when I paid $30 for the cheapest package, and still got a ton of traffic. Now the middle grade package is like $180 I think.

well I know all niches are different...but back when I had my "investor relations" business, I got an $80k client from one press release...so they worked for me.

  I had a press release picked up for my offline business and made 5 figures as a result.
  
  It turned out to be better than ANY paid advertising I could've ever done.
  
  A reporter and photographer came to my office and interviewed me.
  
  And as a result I had nearly a full page, full color story done on me which caused my phone to ring off the hook for 3 weeks straight and I continued to reap rewards from that particular press release for the next 10 straight months

If you have something news worthy, then a press release can be effective and will have a much better chance of being picked up. If not, then at the very least, you build some back-links and maybe bring in a little traffic.

Press releases can be very effective if done right. Done wrong and you have wasted time and money. Some people say paid submissions get the most traffic, but who wants to go out a spend $$$ "hoping" it sends them traffic. Hand submit them to the top 20 or so free PR sites and see if that works for you. If not, then try the paid submissions. My clients have found a good deal of traffic from the free sites. They also had hundreds of backlinks from those as well so it will help your adsense site in more than one ways.

Make sure to make your story newsworthy. What is awesome about your site and how can it help people here and now?

I've paid for PRWeb and it was a good value. You might
want to test your Press release for headline clickthrough
elsewhere - also keep in mind that PRWeb paid releases
get indexed in the search engines so, as always, it's a
balance between choosing a scorching headline and
choosing a keyword-rich one.

I used Webwire last year and I got my story picked up by a Japanese and a Russian news agency. I also got picked up by the search engines very quickly. Then again, my Wordpress posts often turn up in Google in less than ten minutes so maybe that's not so important.
